-Olivia-
I woke up the next day with my head throbbing causing me a pain that I had never experienced before. I yawned and turned around, the sudden movement making my head pain even more. I slowly reached out to touch my head and my hands passed over a very large bump. I sat there frowning, trying to recall how I had managed to even get it in the first place.
Then the memories of the last 24 hours came rushing back to me. My eyes filled with tears as I bit my lip and glanced over to the other side of the bed. I was...r*ped. By my very own husband.
I could hear Phil murmuring under his breath. Stiffly, I got up and walked over to the bathroom. I couldn’t remember anything after I was knocked out but I could feel soreness both on my head and the downstairs department. I got in the shower and scrubbed myself clean, trying to wash away all the memories of the night.
It was a Saturday so Phil wouldn’t be getting up anytime soon. I walked over to our bedroom where both of our clothes lay in shreds on the floor. I swallowed hard and ignored the waves of disgust that washed over me. I grabbed the torn clothes and binned them. I was about to leave but I heard a ping. I turned around and saw his phone on the bedside table.
Impulsively, I grabbed it and it was from his beloved 'Elizabeth'. I flicked through several of his texts. I felt betrayed – Just thinking about him made my blood boil.
I walked down the stairs heading towards the kitchen. However, before I got there I heard slow knocking on the door. I frowned and glanced at the clock in the hallway, it was only just past 7 am.
I gingerly opened the door, and saw Jordan.
"What are you doing here?" I asked.
"Never min-," He stopped mid-sentence. I furrowed my eyebrows bewildered as to why he had stopped talking abruptly.
"What the hell is that on your face?" He asked suddenly furious.
"W-what, there’s nothing," I replied touching my cheek.
I walked towards the mirror in the hallway before stopping. My mouth was in an o shape as I examined my face. I had a deep cut running through the left side of my face. On my right cheek I had a large bruise and my right eye was swollen. My lip quivered as I sobbed quietly and buried my face in my hands. Hands gently shook me and I dazed out of my trance.
"I’m sorry," I sobbed.
"What are you sorry for?! If that guy beat you, Liv, you have to call the police!" Jordan exclaimed.
"No! N-no no no please," I begged hanging on his arm. I inwardly rolled my eyes in the scandal that I had gotten myself into. Phil was upstairs asleep and oblivious to everything.
"Liv liste-" I cut him off by placing my lips on his. I had no idea why I was doing this, I just knew that I had to shut him up some way.
I leaned back and his eyes were closed and a small smile on his face. He opened his eyes and asked, "Does he do this often?"
"No, well, not really...just the odd time or two," I cringed from Jordan’s facial expression. "Look, wait outside for 10 minutes. We can go to yours and talk properly ok," I told him and shut the door, before he could answer.
I quickly got a scarf and jacket, tidied the kitchen super fast and put on my boots. I slowly and quietly, with the stealth and speed of a ninja, exited the house.
Jordan was sitting on the steps with his back to me. I slowly tapped his shoulder and he grabbed my hand before starting to walk. Jordan leaned in and placed a small kiss on my lips. He leaned back and looked into my eyes, and I swear we had one of those “looking into each other’s eyes” moment! I know this was so wrong, and I shouldn’t cheat on Phil. Phil had been so different lately and it had been putting serious strains on our relationship. I was just so confused.
"You live far from here?" I asked, looking for a distraction.
"No, just 5 minutes down the road," He replied. We walked in companiable silence as we held hands. Not before long, we were in front of quite a big house.
"Wow, nice house you got here," I said casually.
"Yeah, before my parents split, they decided to give this house to me and I got it when I turned 21." He answered nonchalantly.
When we got in he gave me the grand tour and we were now currently having hot coffees in his living room. The TV was on but we weren’t watching it.
"Look Jordan, I’m really sorry about what Phil did to you yesterday. He has some serious jealousy issues and I guess he is not the same man that I married 8 years ago," I said wistfully.
"Look, I know this is totally random, but would you like to come to dinner with me. I know this little restaurant 20 minutes away, so you wouldn’t have to worry about Phil....we could go as friends," Ryan asked, nervous and hesitantly. "Just to get your mind off things," He added.
"Jordan, I just need some time okay, I’m really sorry." I said softly.
"Um, okay then," Jordan said dejectedly. The atmosphere in the room started to get a bit awkward.
"Look, I need to get going, see you around," I finally broke into the silence.
"Yeah, see you around," He muttered.
I walked out and not before long I arrived on to the road of my house. I stopped in my tracks as I saw Phil opening OUR car door for some lady. Oh no he didn’t!
Some serious sh*t was about to go down!
