-Kate-
"Who is getting married?!" Lucy questioned looking at me with her eyebrows raised.
"Me?" I answered sheepishly.
"You are getting married and you didn’t even think to tell me?!" Luce screeched.
"I know, I know I’m a horrible best friend!" I admitted throwing my hands up in the air.
"Who is the lucky man?" Luce asked, her eyes gleaming for a trinket of gossip.
"I am!" Ryan said bursting into the room. He grabbed me in his arms and hugged me intimately.
"Get a room guys!" Lucy mock complained. "The ring, let me see the ring!" She suddenly burst out.
Her eyes glanced over my left hand and she clasped it, holding my hand up to the light so that she could inspect the ring.
"Beautiful isn't it?" I said smiling.
"Not as beautiful as you," Ryan said lovingly. We gazed into each other’s eyes until a clearing of throat brought us out of our trances.
"It is beautiful, how much did this cost?!" Lucy asked his eyebrows knitted together in disbelief and confusion.
"I’d rather not say,” Ryan admitted with a little smile. I reached up and hugged him.
"Thank you so much, I’m really sorry about the money thing," I said biting my lip.
"Don’t worry, it was worth it." He said pressing a kiss to my forehead.
"What are you doing home anyway," I asked, grabbing his hand and Lucy’s and leading them to the kitchen.
"I decided to come home for lunch to see my girl, but I’m going back in an hours’ time," He groaned.
"Guys, I’m off now, remember to send me an invite to your wedding!" Lucy joked before getting up.
I made my way back into the house.
"Mum, did you tell Phil that you were pregnant?" I asked suddenly curious.
"No, I was going to tell him as soon as I found out, but the times just weren’t right. Turns out he had a wife, who he was married for 8 years..." mum answered wistfully.
"Mum I’m so sorry," I answered, rubbing her arm.
"Oh it’s alright, not like it was serious or anything," she answered.
Before I could answer the doorbell rang. Mum made her way to the door.
"Kate, could you come here for a minute please? It’s for you," mum called from the front door.
I wonder what she wanted now. I got up and trailed to the front door. I wondered who it would be. Oh, it would most probably be Ryan, coming home from work.
So you would expect me to be shocked when I saw this person at the door.
Jake!
Remember, Aunty Jake!
"Jake!" I scream hugging him. A clearing of throat had me jumping off of him. Behind Jake at the door was Ryan. This does look quite bad.
"What’s going on here? Who is he?" Ryan asked his eyes narrowed slightly.
"This is just a friend, don’t worry nothings goi-" I was cut off trying to explain the situation.
"I’m gay." Jake said flatly.
"Oh, ok then," Ryan answered.
"So, how did you guys meet?" Ryan asked pulling me into the living room, and motioning for Jake to follow.
