-Kate-

It was so overwhelming. Just from becoming a little school girl, to a single pregnant woman, then to an engaged pregnant woman.

I loved it. I was still grasping onto the fact that I was engaged! I was turning 17 next month and we were planning to have the wedding before the baby, so not long to go now. My mother was off the next day phoning all her family and friends and hiring halls and booking the caterers and flipping DJ's and everything! But I didn’t mind, mum had lost herself after losing the baby, and I think that Ryan and I have helped her find herself again.

Every day Ryan would come to see me and every few days he will bring a small but cute little gift for the baby. It ranged from teeny bibs, to little pairs of socks, to an adorable pair of converse no bigger than my thumb!

It had been 2 weeks from the doctor’s appointment, and they had no leads on what that thing was on the blood test. I kept it at the back of my mind; it was one less thing to worry about. I was officially 4 months pregnant! The thing that I was worried about our financial problems. I wasn’t working, but Ryan was just an employee at his local gym.

I guess I could get a job for a while, maybe waitressing? I could apply at starbucks, and I could get to work with Jake! I almost forgot about 'aunty' Jake, my new gay friend.

Later that afternoon Ryan came to the house. He hugged and kissed me and asked how my day went.

"Guess what baby?" He asked me excitedly.

"What?" I questioned.

"I got promoted! I’m now a personal trainer at the gym and I get paid double!" He beamed over at me.

“Congratulations honey, I’m so proud!" I said, hugging onto him.

"I know that you've been worried about the money issue, but fear no more Mrs. Cooper, for I is here," He whispered seductively into my ear. I laughed at his attempt of seduction.

"I’m not a Cooper just yet!” I mocked him. It was quite late so we headed to bed.

He was playing with my hair as I was curled to his side with my face pressing down on his neck.

"I love you," He whispered, pulling back to look into my eyes. After a month of being with him, I was smitten and absolutely adored him. Most people would date and then pop the question but Ryan and I just seemed to have a special connection and we shared something that we had created together. I think that’s what got me to say yes to him when he asked to me to marry him.

"I love you too," I whispered back, placing a soft chaste kiss to his lips. I wrapped my arms around his neck and fell asleep by his side. By my beautiful fiancées side.

-Ryan-

She had her arms wrapped around my neck and her face cuddled into my neck. I loved her. I loved her with all my heart. Her breathing slowed and I realised that she had fallen asleep. I tried prying her arms off and laying her down properly so she could sleep properly, but her arms tightened around my neck. Her eyebrows were furrowed, so I pulled her tightly to my side. I felt her smile against my neck and I swore I heard her say 'good boy'! I just chuckled lightly, hugging her tightly before falling asleep with my angel and our baby in my arms.

We were awakened in the morning by Kate’s mum bursting into the room and opening the curtains. The light shone in and we both groaned. She buried her face deeper into my neck and shoulder.

"Wakey wakey, rise and shine!" Eli says cheerfully.

"Eli," I groan.

"Hey, that’s mother in law to you mister!" She joked to me.

I slowly rose up and pulled Kate up with me. I try to get her to release me but she just tightened her grip and then wrapped her legs around me waist. I stood up with her attached to me and went to the bathroom. Positioning her so that my hands were free, I pretended to start to wee.

"Let me go!" She screamed. She loosened her grip as I slowly placed her onto the ground. She swirled around me and sat on the toilet, preventing me from using it.

"Hey, I needed to go!" I pouted.

"Hey, a pregnant woman always goes first. Don’t ever go between a pregnant woman and her bladder!" She joked laughing. "Now go sit and wait in the bath tub," She ordered.

"Remember this a few months ago. You peeing and me spying on you, that was so funny! You were so embarrassed, talk about cheeks on fire!" I joked as I laughed, reliving the memory.

"Of course I was embarrassed, you had seen my bum!" She yelled.

"Kids, come on get out. Kate quickly get dressed, the dress maker is here and she has brought over a few dresses. She is also a tailor so you can get her to make your dress," Eli shouted through the toilet.

"I guess that’s my cue to leave, I shall be around after work, see you," I said to Kate, kissing her forehead.

"I wish you didn’t have to leave," She pouted.

"Someone’s got to make the money love.” I answered before closing the door to let her shower.

-Kate-

I was downstairs looking at the selection of dresses that were spread out onto the sofas in the living room. They were all so beautiful. I saw one with a beautiful lace opening, sleeveless but had intricate and stitched beauty on it. It had a long train and it wasn’t too tight, which was good because I would need space for the baby as well! I skipped over to the bathroom where I tried it and didn’t look into the mirror. I walked into the living room, where both my mum and the designer where waiting.

"Honey, you look so amazing," She said breathlessly, tearing up. I peeked in the full length mirror. I gasped in amazement. The woman in the reflection looked amazing. She had no makeup on, and her hair was in soft bedhead waves, but she looked stunning. Her dress complimented her bump as well. That person was me! I exclaimed excitedly and turned around at the long train behind me.

It was the perfect dress. I knew it was this one and I was expecting nothing more or nothing less.

"Mum, this is the one," I confirmed.

"Good choice, go and take it off now, then we can talk after parties," She said. I went over to the bathroom and took off the beauty of a gown and wore my joggers and a worn out hoodie. After party? I pondered.

"Mum, what after party?" I asked her.

"You know the party after the wedding," She explained.

"Oh the reception, why didn’t you just call it that," I told her. Before she could reply the door opened and I saw a familiar face.

"Luce!" I breathed up at her. She grinned back and enveloped me in a bear hug.

"Oh Lucy dear, how nice of you to pop by, come in and take a seat!" mum said rounding the corner and bringing us into the living room.

"Whose getting married?!" Lucy questioned looking at me with her eyebrows raised. I forgot to tell Luce, my best friend that I was getting married in a month’s time.
