-Kate-
Groggily, I smacked the alarm to stop the thing blare out annoying screeches. I sighed and looked at the time. It was 8.00.
It was a Sunday and I was going to the hospital to get my medicine for the cancer. On the plus side, we get to find out the sex of our baby! I also start college tomorrow. So much all happening at once and not enough time.
I could hear the shower running from my room, so I did the bed and tidied the room a bit. I opened the curtains and the light shone in.
I blinked and yawned, stretching my arms up and letting my neck click backwards.
Ryan came in then, with a towel riding low on his waist.
"You're so beautiful," he said, leaning down to kiss me.
"Not for long, remember?" I say, motioning a scissor cutting my hair off with my hands.
"You are beautiful. You will still be beautiful, hair or not. I will always be by your side. No matter what. You are my wife and I will stick by you in sickness and in health, remember?" Ryan said, quoting our vows.
"Okay." I whispered, letting the tears drop freely from my eyes.
Ryan came over and locked me in an embrace. I sniffed into him; his masculine scent mixed with cologne wrapped itself around him like an aura.
I let go of him and trotted over to the bathroom. I washed up and let my hair dangle at my sides. I looked into the mirror. Dark bags sat under my eyes and my face was pale, with not even a tinge of colour on my cheeks. My unhealthy hair was limply hanging on my head. My lips were chapped and my blue eyes were wide at my appearance. I sighed and got dressed.
An hour later we were sitting at the special doctors my mum had booked me an appointment at.
We were walking to the room when my mum crashed into someone.
"I'm so sorry!" a woman's voice exclaimed.
Mum bent down and picked something up before handing it back to the woman.
"Olivia?" mum asks enquiringly.
"Elizabeth?" the woman asks at exactly the same time.
"It's been so long!" mum exclaimed.
"You're pregnant? It didn't show last time, you must be into 8 months by now right? "Mum continued, looking at the woman's large bump.
"No, I've still got a while left, but I look this huge because I'm having triplets." she smiling.
"Oh wow, that is amazing, congratulations!" mum says.
"Thank you! Is that your daughter?" she asked, peering back at me. I clutched Ryan's hands casually.
"Yes, this is Kate. She's pregnant as well!" mum beamed.
"That's amazing, congratulations Kate," she said smiling at me.
I just smiled back, not wanting to get into a conversation. I mean, I still didn't know who the woman was.
"Anyways we have to get going to Kate's appointment, it was nice seeing you," mum finally said.
"You girls are invited to Olivia's baby shower, you can all catch up properly then." the man standing next to Olivia said.
"What?! I'm having a baby shower?!" Olivia screeched.
We; mum, Ryan and I just stood there awkwardly.
I tugged on Ryan's hand and walked into the direction of the doctor's room. Mum followed suit and we left a gaping Olivia with her mouth wide open, stunned.
