-Authors note-

You may be a bit confused with this chapter, but this is before Olivia's baby shower took place. Its a rewind from the last chapter and I will be including the baby shower in briefly near the end, and then you will find out what happens after the whole incident at the end of the last chapter. I hope it's not too confusing. So finally, this is BEFORE Olivia's baby shower.

Kate's POV:

I awoke wrapped in a cocoon of warmth. I sighed and stretched, yawning like a cat awakening from its nap. I opened my eyes blearily and my eyes met the calendar.

Oh god.

I start college today.

I sigh and sit up, looking down at Ryan sleeping peacefully. I felt a slight breeze on my head, well not a slight, it was actually quite cold up there. I reached my hand up to clasp my hair down, but my hands met a cold surface. I yelped and hurried as fast as I could to the mirror. It was then when reality came hurdling down like a pile of bricks. I had forgotten that I was now bald. I looked at the reflection and the new me stared back at myself. It was just so weird, so different not having your hair there.

Ryan stirred from the bed and sat up and rubbed his eyes.

"Kat." Ryan called with a smirk on his face.

"Hey, my names Kate, Ry!" I retorted, with a smirk plastered on my face.

"I love you baby," he said, walking over to me, kissing the top of my head.

I looked at him and he was smiling earnestly down at me.

"Well, I'm glad. I thought you may be having second thoughts over your wife." I said jokingly, with a hint of truth behind the statement.

"Don't say that. Not even in a joking matter." Ryan said abruptly.

I shrugged it off and made my way to the bathroom. I washed up and ate some breakfast. A good thing about this college was that it didn't have uniform. I chucked on a black hoody, skinny jeans and some converse. The hoody was quite large so it didn't show my bump, which was growing quite big! I didn't bother with make up because I'm not trying to impress anyone, and also quite frankly, it's a long process!

I had some breakfast then I read through the letter making sure I had got everything. I had my new bag, an oversized handbag was what I was carrying my stuff with, I wasn't too fussed what I put everything in to be honest. I had the stationary and the map of the school with me. I looked at my timetable.

This year I was doing photography, English literature and a journalism course. I didn't need to pick a 4th subject as the course is very long and takes place over 2 years, including me doing regular month placements at different places. I had informed the college about the cancer and the baby and how I would need some time off, for my 'maternity leave', and they were fine with it. The college were going to send me my assignments by email weekly. I'm leaving at the end of November, beside the due date of the baby is late December.

"You all set?" Ryan asked, breaking me out of my daze.

"Yeah," I croaked, my voice betraying my inner turmoil.

"Everything will be okay," Ryan said, pulling me in for a hug.

I sighed and made my way to the car. On the drive, I turned the radio on so I wouldn't have to speak. I sighed inwardly as we pulled up at the parking lot and people were looking this way. There weren't a lot of cars here yet, I was glad because I didn't want any attention.

I got out and so did Ryan. I smiled and waved at him as a bye, but he grabbed my hand and pulled me to him. He turned me around so that I was leaning on the side of the car. He leant down and kissed me smack on the lips. The kiss was filled with lust and desire. After a few seconds I had to push him away so we didn't get too carried away. We broke apart breathing heavily smiling at each other.
