Laid in each other's arm's that night, Connie and Jacob talked quietly. Grace's birthday was two weeks away and Connie wanted to do something special for her.
"I've no idea what to do, maybe organize a party for her?" Connie thought out loud.
"Well I have a suggestion." Ventured Jacob.
"Well do tell!"
"Ok, it's just an idea... we're both off next week...why don't we take her on holiday? Just the three of us. I haven't thought of where or anything, I didn't get that far. I mean... we could go to the coast or something n get back the day before her birthday, that way we can still throw her a party."
Connie looked up from where she was resting on his shoulder.
"Thats a lovely idea Jacob.... let's do it. Grace is sleeping over at Emily's tomorrow night, we can look at some places online after work. Let's keep it as a surprise!"
Connie was smiling, happy with the decision they'd just made.
"Jacob?"
"Yes sweet cheeks."
"Tell me how you got covered in flour!" Giggled Connie.
Jacob leant up on his elbow causing Connie's head to fall onto the pillow, he smiled down at her. "It wasn't that funny!"
"It really was...please tell me." Begged Connie.
Jacob let out a sigh as he moved to lay over Connie, positioning himself so he wasn't putting all of his weight on her.
"Okay, okay... so...me n Grace had just finished baking and started to tidy up. We'd done everything, washed up, wiped down the work tops n put all the bits n pieces away. The last thing was the bag of flour... Grace had left that for me coz she couldn't reach the top cupboard. I reached up to put the bag on the shelf... n it fell!" Shrugged Jacob.
"It fell? That's it, it just fell!"
"Yes it fell....n landed on my head!" He grumbled.
Connie chuckled again, leaning up to kiss him. "It really was that funny, I wish I'd got a picture to send to Dawn."
Jacob just smiled, shuck his head leaning down to kiss her but almost instantly Connie pulled back. "When are you going to move your things in, is there a lot to sort?"
"Not really, the main things to deal with is my gym equipment."
"It could go in the garage for now....I thought you might like the out building down the garden, it'd need cleaning up and redecorating but there's electric and a water supply. Thought it'd be nice to have your own space." Offered Connie.
"Really? Ye, that'd be great, I could set up my own little gym." He smiled leaning in for more kisses.

It was late when they got home the next day because after work they called at Jacob's to collect some of his things. Neither of them could face cooking so they ordered a pizza, got changed into comfortable clothes and huddled on the settee with the laptop. Grace had already been dropped off with Dawn and Mark so they had the house to themselves. They spent a couple of hours comparing holidays but eventually decided on a beautiful cottage in Cornwall. It was close to the beach, shops and local attractions while still far enough away to be private.
"I can't wait to get there now, I hope Grace likes it." Worried Connie.
"She'll love it Con, what's not to love. There's everything a Beauchamp girl could want, there's a barbecue, nice garden, shops, beach, three tv's, WiFi and the thing I'm looking forward to most, the hot tub on the decking." Jacob said wagging his eyebrows seductively.
Connie shoved his shoulder. "You have a filthy mind Staff Nurse Masters!" Failing to keep a smile from forming. "I think maybe you have one too Mrs Beauchamp!" Said Jacob making Connie blush.
