The next day Sam woke up clutched into a ball. She didn't know what to do,but when she looked at her phone she say five missed calls and over twenty texts all from Matthew. All Sam did was call Matthew back hoping he would answer. It rang about five time then went to voicemail.  She tried a few times before Matthew actually answered.

"Hey babe" Matthew said as he answered.

"Hi" Sam said in a hush tone.

"Whats wrong?"
When Matthew asked this all Sam could think to herself was "Oh now you care?"

"Nothing is wrong. What would be?" Sam asked Matthew with a little attitude.

It was silent for a little bit on the other end until Matthew finally spoke in a low and sorrowful tone. "I know your mad at me. You have a right to be."

All Sam could do is stare at the floor as those words flowed through her mind and she processed them. A few minutes passed until Sam finally spoke.

"Well you obviously thought I deserved to be treated that way.  So don't apologize."

"Why are you being like this? I am apologizing. Do you like making me feel worse about myself?" Matthew asked Sam.

"Look I don't mean to make you feel worse or anything, but I was upset and you ignoring me made it worse" Sam said.

The rest of the conversation was Sam telling Matthew what she was feeling and he would tell her to. By the time when he had to hang up they had worked everything out. Sam was about to hang up when Matthew stopped her.

"What? What is it?" Sam asked.

"I love you" Matthew said.

As soon as Sam heard that her cheeks got red. She just giggled and said "I love you too".

After they were done talking on the phone Sam just lounged around her apartment.

The day had finally come. The day Matthew came home. Sam was so excited she spent the night before making a welcome home sign to hold at the airport while she waited to greet Matthew.  She woke up that morning with a smile on her face. She curled her hair cause Matthew liked it when her hair was curly. Then she went and picked out an outfit that Matthew had told her he liked for her to wear. Sam basically tried to pick out everything Matthew liked. She wanted everything to be perfect.

Sam didn't know whether or not  to cook him a meal or go out to eat, but ether way it would be what Matthew wanted. In the middle of getting ready Sam heard her phone buzz and unlocked it to read a text from Matthew saying, "Heading to the airport".  A smile peered on Sam face as she typed back "That's great. Tell me when you get to the airport and when you are about to board."  Since Arizona is an hour behind on time the Texas Sam had do find things to keep herself occupied until he landed. The more Sam thought about Matthew coming home the more she got nervous. Sam didn't want the to argue or even be mad at her. She knew they had talked out their problem the other night, but she didn't want him to be mad at her.  Matthew finally sent "I am about to board the plane" and Sam just replied with "Alright babe. Have a safe flight."

After about two hours Matthew's flight had finally landed. It had felt like forever since Matthew had sent that text about boarding the plane. Sam was already waiting in the luggage pickup at the airport when Matthew had sent the message of landing. When Sam read the message she just couldn't help, but smile. She held her sign up when she heard his flight number being read over the intercom saying that it had just landed. Sam saw so many faces before she finally saw one she knew like the back of her hand.  It was just hard because with the escalator facing down all she saw was people's feet before their faces.

Finally she saw him. Matthew. Once Sam saw Matthew her heart leaped, her stomach filled with butterflies, and her cheeks went red. It felt like the moment when she had first met him all over again.  She just smiled as she held her sign up. He looked around and they exchanged a glance even, but he still didn't officially see her. Matthew just kept walk. Sam couldn't help but feel a little bit of her died inside when he did that. So she just stood there. People passing by her like she had been waiting there since the beginning of the century. She felt like her feet where cemented to the floor because she refused to move. Sam didn't want to be the one to walk up to Matthew she felt that it just would ruin the whole thing.

Matthew finally saw her and her sign and his eye lit up. She couldn't help but get the biggest smile on her face. He ran up to her and grabbed her in her arms. Sam just laughed and smiled.

"I'm glad your home" Sam whispered Matthew in his ear.

"I'm glad to be home" Matthew said before he passionately kissed her.

Sam and Matthew just stood there in the middle of the airport, her in his arms, and they felt so close. For Sam it felt like their first real kiss and she was absorbing every moment of it. She felt like time had stopped, her surroundings melted away, and that there was fireworks in the background. Nothing had ever felt so perfect.  Once they caught up with time they grabbed Matthew's luggage and headed off. They didn't know what they exactly were going to do, but they were gonna figure it out as they went. Sam couldn't wait to see what the rest of the night had in store, but she was ready for it.
