For the next three weeks Sam did her usual thing, and that was go to school, play with Milo, and try to do her work without getting distracted by the thought of Matthew. It seemed to consume her every thought. She found her self wondering what he was doing or if he was thinking of her too, but Sam didn't want to get to wrapped into him after all she had just went threw a hard time with not just one boy two. So she tried to distract herself any way she could, and it worked just for a little bit though.

The day finally came when Sam showed up to class and Matthew was there too. When she saw him she got excited, but didn't want it to show so she tried to stay calm.  There was an open seat by him so she decided to sit there, but as soon as she was walking up someone took it so she had to sit right next to him. When she walked up to the seat she felt her cheeks get hot especially when she looked in his eyes. Right when she got her stuff out and she got comfortable the lecture started. Sam had to pass a note to him instead of talking to him.

"Hey :) " Sam wrote trying to start a conversation.

"Whats up?(: " Matthew replied.

"Oh you know in this lecture trying not to get distracted" Sam chuckled as she wrote.

Matthew just quietly laughed when he read it and wrote "oh that sucks".

At this point Sam just wanted to as him about the phone number thing, but she didn't want to be upfront about it. She was in conflict with herself until she wrote "So the number you gave me when i texted it the person who answered said it was a wrong number did you do that on purpose?"

When Sam looked in the corner of her eye she saw Matthew reading what she said, but the only thing was Matthew looked a little upset at what she said. All he wrote back was "Meet me after the lecture". Once he wrote that they didn't talk or pass a note until after the lecture. It seemed as if Matthew quickly walked out of the lecture hall Sam tried to quickly follow him, but when she walked out she didn't see him anywhere. It wasn't until he tapped her on the shoulder that she noticed where he was, but she had a bad feeling her stomach. Sam handed him her phone to show the messages that she thought she had sent him. After Matthew looked at it for a little bit then he let out a chuckle and said "You put in the wrong number". "Oh" Sam said with flushed cheeks, and all that happened was Matthew gave her his number and made sure that it was his and then he walked away smiling.

Later that night Sam seemed to be glued to her phone, but she didn't care she just wanted to text Matthew. It seemed like they talked about anything and everything. The only problem was Sam ended up feeling like she was falling for him, but on a normal basis it would be ok the only difference was she was she was falling for him fast and hard. Sam ended up falling asleep on the couch because she was texting him and woke up the next morning with a stiff neck. As she slowly got up she noticed Milo wasn't by her and she suddenly got worried. Sam looked in her room and found him curled up under her bed, but all she could wonder was why he was under there. Once she got him out from under the bed she carried him back to the couch with her and sat him on her lap as she sat down. Sam decided she would take him to the park today so he could maybe get back to his old self. She decided to text Matthew to come, but he never responded so she figured he was busy. Sam put Milo's leash on, walked him to her car, got him in, and drove to the park.

As she walked threw the park a little girl kept looking at Sam and pointed to her while telling her mom something. It seemed like the girl and her mom were falling Sam through the park. After about two hours Sam got tired and headed for her car but was stopped. It was the little girl and her mom that stood in her way, but Sam tried to walk around them. They seemed to be taking up the whole path so Sam asked "Can I help you with something?". All they did was look at each other and the little girl seemed to speak for both of them. "That's my dog" she said as she pointed at Milo.

"No, this is my dog I found him here in the park a couple of weeks ago" Sam said trying not to raise her voice.

"Yeah you found him after he ran away from me" the little girl said with tears in her eyes almost yelling at Sam.

Sam really didn't want to give the dog back even if it was true or not. She had already gotten really attached to Milo. The mother just looked at Sam and said "Please this was her first pet, and after she had ran away we thought she got ran over by a car".

"It's a boy dog" Sam said frustrated. At this point Sam just wanted to walk away and forget both of them, but Sam also wanted to do the right thing so she leaned down and picked Milo up. She took off his collar and kissed his head before she handed him to the mother with tears in Sam's eyes. All Sam did was look the little girl in the eyes and say "Take care of him please. He is a really nice dog". With that Sam turned around and walked to her car to drive to her apartment where she spent the rest of the evening on the couch holding Milo's collar. Tears fell as she stared at the collar of her once beloved pet, and she hated every second separated from him.
