Leann's POV:
"OH MY GOSH, LEA, LOOK AT THIS ONE!" Elka shouted from across the store showing me a long pink strapless dress. Elka, Caitlin, and I were shopping for prom dresses at the mall. I swear, Elka has shown me about 100 pink dresses in the past hour that we were here. I searched through rack after rack finding nothing that suited my liking. Elka was like a kid in a candy store as she skipped around the store finding dresses that she liked. Caitlin and I laughed at her as Elka pranced around the store.
"Hey Le, how is this one?" Caitlin asked me. It was a red and black strapless dress with white and black flowers that the bottom of it.
"Oh my gosh! It's beautiful!"
I kept on looking through the rack of dresses. After a while, I found the perfect dress. It was a long baby blue strapless dress with gems along the top of it. I took it off the rack and ran towards Elka.
"I found it!" I exclaimed.
"OMG so did I!" she said while holding up a long, turquoise dress with gems along the waist.
"It's perfect! Let's try them on!" I replied with jumping. We ran into the dressing room and quickly slipped on the dresses. Mine fit me perfectly. It wasn't too tight or too baggy, it was just right. It brought out my eyes and made my figure look just right.
"How does your dress fit El?"
"Fits perfect!"
"So does mine! Caitlin, how about you?"
"I love mine! Fits perfect."
We all stepped out of our dressing rooms and we all spinned and twirled in our prom dresses. These were the ones. I can't believe that we are going to graduate and go to prom in about 2 weeks. I have known Elka and Caitlin since second grade. I never knew that we would be here in this shop looking for prom dresses.
"Hey Le, you should run for prom queen!" Caitlin butted in.
"Oh come on Le, you should! It's senior year!"
"PLEASE!!!" they both shouted.
"Uh, I guess. When are the elections?"
"Friday!"
Today was Wednesday. I only have 2 days to prepare myself for this. Imagine if I win. Maybe Bryan would be prom king. But what if Sherri takes the crown instead?
Sherri is the most popular girl in school, also known as, my main bully. When she finds out that I'm running for prom queen, she is going to try as hard as she can to beat me.
"Let's go ring these up at the counter." I said trying to break up Elka and Caitlin's squealing. We paid for the dresses after we took them off and left with the dresses. We all went into Caitlin's car and we drove off to find a pair of shoes to wear. This was going to be a long day.
Bryan's POV:
As I parked my car infront of Leann's house, I took a deep breath as I opened the car door. I made my way up the steps and pressed the doorbell. My hand shook as Leann's dad opened the door.
"Hey Bryan! How are you? Leann's not home at the mome.."
I interupted him. "I know, I actually came to... talk to you." I gulped.
"Oh, come on in then."
My body trembled as I walked into her house. Leann's mom was on the couch on her computer as I walked in. I sat on the couch with him as her mom turned off the computer.
"Bryan, why are you here?" she asked me kindly.
"I came to talk to the both of you... about... Leann."
They looked at eachother as I took a deep breath."As you know, I love your daughter very much. She is the most beautiful, intelligent and loving woman a man could ever ask for. We've been together for almost two years now, and I can't imagine spending my life with anyone else but her. I would like to ask her to marry me and I'm here to ask you for your blessing." That wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. I smiled as they smiled back at me.
"You seem like a boy who would never ever break a girl's heart, Bryan. Asking me this wasn't easy for you to do and I respect that. If I were to let you ask her hand in marriage, when would it be?" he asked me.
"At prom, in two weeks."
"That sounds perfect, Bryan! Oh she is going to be so happy!"
"Bryan, I give you my blessing, but if you ever hurt my daughter, ever in the future, you have another thing coming." he chimmed in laughing while patting my shoulder.
I pulled the ring out of my pant pocket and showed it to them. They were amazed of what such a good job I did picking out the ring.
"Bryan, it's beautiful!" her mom exclaimed.
"Bryan, Leann is one lucky girl to have a boyfriend like you. I wish you the best at prom." her dad said.
"Thank you, Mr. and Mrs. Carter. You can't tell her anything about this. All she knows is that we are going to prom together."
"We won't." they said in unison smiling from ear to ear.
I said my good byes as I hugged them. "Thank you." I smiled as I walked towards the door. I closed the door behind me and I fist pumped the air.
"Yes!" I shouted, "I actually did it!"
*****SKIPS TO FRIDAY*****
Leann's POV:
I stumbled across the hallway towards the prom queen booth. My hand began to shake as I stood by the table.
"Miss Carter! Are you running for prom queen this year?"
"Yes I am."
"Sign here." the lady said handing me a sign up sheet and a pen. I signed my name as I read through the paper. I had to make my own posters and I had to prepare a speech. I'm great at speeches and finally my art work can go towards something productive for once. I handed the lady the paper and pen as she wrote my name down on the list.
"Who else is running?" I asked her.
"Let's see." she looked at the list, "Christine, Lily, Pam, Abigail, and Sherri."
My eyes almost popped out of my head. "Sherri? Which one?"
"Their is only one Sherri, Miss Carter."
I was going against Sherri in the running for prom queen. My life is about to become living hell all over again.
