Holden's Point of View
Tonight is Ridgewood High's first annual Talent Night. I was going to perform, but the only song I would want to sing is True Love with Liv. My mom told me that I shouldn't have to chased after her for as long as I did. She's the reason why Liv and I aren't together anymore. I want to date her. She's the girl of my dreams. But my mom didn't want me to emotionally hurt myself anymore.

Liv and I are like Romeo and Julliet, meant to be. But there's always a parent in the way.

"Holden honey, it's almost time to go." My mom yelled up the stairs.

"Be right there mom." I hollered back.

I quickly put a comb threw my hair and then looked at myself in the mirror to make sure I was looking good. Of course I was. Just to make sure, I adjusted my tie and flattened my shirt. "Coming mom!"

Once I arrived at the Talent Night A.K.A the dance, I realized I was undressed. Everyone was in tuxedos and dresses. All I was in a dress shirt and jeans. Whatever it's not like I'm trying to impress anyone, I can't have the one I want.

"Holden." A deep voice called.

"Diggie?"

"Man, about yesterday." Diggie sounded apologetic, I'm really unsure of Diggie. He truly is unpredictable.

"Yah." I laughed a bit. "What was all that about?"

"I'm sorry. I took it too far."

"Just a bit." I said sarcastically as I made a little space between my thumb and pointer finger.

He rubbed the back of his neck nervously. "Maddie's family is like my family, I don't want anyone to ever hurt them. You don't understand how much you have it Liv threw. You may think you do but you really don't."

I started to chock up a bit. "I want to be with Liv more than anything in the world. But my mom doesn't think that's a good move for my mental health. So she won't let us become a couple."  A tear rolled down my face. "She doesn't understand that all this tortuous pain I am going threw will be worth it in the end." I wiped the tears off my cheeks. "I love her, and soon I will have her."

Diggie patted me on the shoulder. "Then go get her." Diggie then left into the crowd of people.

He's right, but I can't. I can't go against my mothers wishes.
