Our first kill

My two friends and I continued to ride making sure to keep an eye out for any titans. When we spotted one far off we set off a flare. I was glad there hasn't been any casualties yet, nor have we had to fight any titans, sadly I can't say the same for the other squads. Though we have been honing our skills to fight the titans, I feel very unprepared. These monsters have been eating our friends and families, and who knows who's next. I gulped at that thought. I was becoming increasingly nervous.

"You know it's quite pretty out here." Abigail said looking up at the sky. The whole time we had been riding no one said anything until now.

"Y-yeah." I answered trying not to make my nervousness so obvious.

"Haha," I heard Abigail chuckle, "You know, I've never seen what a nervous wreck you are until we joined the Survey Corps." She smiled at me.

Even though she looks a little different now because of her hair, she's always looked so beautiful and I envied her for it. But her looks didn't ever mean anything, it was her personality that made her so popular. She could be as ugly as a cows behind and still be loved by everybody. I'm glad I could be one of her closest friends.

When it was about lunch time we stopped to eat with squads close to us. Some soldiers kept watch while the others ate, then we switched.

"So, how you three feeling?" One of the men asked us.

"I'm fine." Abigail answered and Elizabeth and I just nodded our heads in agreement, though Elizabeth might have been as nervous as me.

"That's good. I'm surprised you're all holding up so well." The man said with a deep chuckle.

"Well they haven't seen that much. I'm sure they'll figure out the pain of being a soldier during their first encounter." Another man spoke up.

Almost on cue, one of the men keeping watch yelled out to us, "10 and 12 meter titans approachin!"

We got up and prepared ourselves. "Someone shoot a flare!" One man yelled.

"We should take them out!" Abigail yelled.

"Are you crazy? We don't need to engage in less it's an abnormal." Elizabeth said.

"If you're all too afraid to fight then I will! I've waited long enough for a fight!" She charged toward the 10 meter, her swords ready to cut through their flesh.

When the 10 meter reached for her she used her gear to get behind the titan, shooting the wires into its back and bringing herself up to the nape where she made a clean cut.

When the titan fell to the ground she turned to attack the other one but saw Elizabeth and I had joined the fight and was already on it.

I ran up in front of it and when it bent over to grab me Elizabeth attacked from behind, slicing through both ankles. The titan fell forward and I moved out of the way before it crushed me and flew over to the back of its neck, cutting it dead.

I stood there breathing heavily and feeling very proud of myself. I smiled in victory. 'I just killed my first titan!' I thought, feeling a rush through my body. I felt invincible. Abigail and Elizabeth both had the same look as me.

Elizabeth was shaking a lot, I don't think it was from fear, but excitement maybe. She feel to her knees and breathed out a sigh of relief.

I got down and ran over to them. "Are you alright?" I asked her.

"I...I'm alive." She breathed with heavy breathes, smiling with amazement and relief.

~Time Skip~

We were back on our horses riding through beautiful fields of grass. It was just the three of us again but we were fine with that. We felt much better than before. We were much more confident and didn't fear the possibility of encountering more titans. We were a team and it seemed as long as we were together we would be fine.

Suddenly a sound shot through the air and when we looked up we saw a black flare. 'A black flare. That means-'

"A black flare. We should go help!" Abigail said.

"Are you sure?" Elizabeth questioned.

"Yeah!"

"Alright, let's go!" I yelled.

"Don't worry, as long as we stick together we'll be fine!" Abigail assured us with a big smile.

We nodded our heads and followed. But as we got closer to where the flare was shot I got a sinking feeling that this was a bad decision.

I'm back bitches! Jk but I am back writing, sorry it's been so long. I just took one of those long breaks because of school. But luckily for me the end of the school year is coming in like, 7 weeks. Yeah, but that means summer! Yay! Sorry its such a short chapter. Hopefully I'll feel like writing some more to update sooner than update in a few months.
