Mrs. Wichlet lets out a sharp gasp beside me. Her raspy voice resembles nails on a chalkboard and I cringe as she cries, "Mr. McCall! Stilinski!"
Liam stands up in his seat, looking back and forth between my brother and me.
Scott looks worried. Stiles stands behind him with the same expression.
"Come on, Jessica." Liam says to me quietly. I glance at Mrs. Wichlet. She's trembling with rage and stutters for words.
I stand up and tuck in my chair as Liam makes his way over to me. Scott and Stiles make a hurry motion with their hands.
"Mrs. Wichlet, it's kind of an emergency." Stiles explains awkwardly as Liam and I hurry over to them. She tightens her lips together.
I feel a strong hand grab my arm and lead me out the door as I stare back at the teacher. The door shuts in front of me and I knock out of my trance. Scott lets go of me.
"So what's wrong?" Liam questions, his face eager to help out with their ordeal. Scott and Stiles exchange a familiar glance.
"Well, stuff. " Stiles replies weirdly, scratching the back of his head. Scott rolls his eyes.
Liam looks at me, confused. I shrug and turn back to Scott. I raise my eyebrows at him.
"I have to go meet up with Chris and Satomi at the warehouse. Stiles needs to be dropped off at the lake house with Malia. You can go to either, or go home. Your choice." Scott says quickly. It takes me a couple seconds to respond.
"Oh, um, I'll go with you." I decide. I would rather not be with Stiles and Malia being all gushy around each other, especially since I know Stiles totally belongs with Lydia.
"I'll go with you too." Liam speaks up. Scott nods and looks back at Stiles, who doesn't seem to care about any of this.
We resume our jogging out the hallway and into the empty parking lot. We rode Stiles's jeep today, so we all pile in. Stiles starts driving at a speed I'm almost positive is very illegal.
I recognize the route we're going as the way to the lake house. Where Malia is supposedly waiting for Stiles. He says they are going to try to figure out more stuff there. Stuff neither Scott or Stiles care to tell me about. I probably wouldn't understand it anyways.
We suddenly take a sharp turn and I am nearly launched (thanks to the crappy seatbelts and my lightweight body) straight into Liam. He flinches for a quick second before time seems to stop. Or maybe it's just me.
The clumsy mess I am is basically draped over him like a blanket, but his gaze still makes me feel like the most amazing girl in the world. The luckiest girl in the world.
I am practically drooling, but I lift my hand to my mouth to assure I don't make a bigger embarrassment of myself.
Stiles bangs on the dashboard. "Alright you two, let's keep it clean back there."
I scoff at him and lift myself off of Liam, fixing my hair. Liam smiles at me cheekily and my heart can't help but flutter. Then I remember my brother is in the front seat and I settle back into my seat.
Outside the window is the same old Beacon Hills. The stretched black pavement runs by underneath us and I get a sudden sense of deja vu. It seems like everything that happens in my life just repeats itself with more intense versions every time.
