Chapter 19: New Lyrics, New Life, New Start

Sam's Point of View~

"You hear a new song, and it's your favorite. And pretty soon you'll be changing the station. And all your old shoes are looking brand new, they wanna be worn but they never get the chance too. Heavy in to everything. Ready for the next thing. To catch your eye for a while then you're over it. You change your mind on it, soon as the shines gone. Like you always do, but you don't know it yet but, woah, woah, I ain't gonna be that easy to leave."I sighed as I looked over the first line of lyrics. This wasn't as hard as I had thought. It was simple, I had my plan. I would write a song, perform it, and hopefully it would make it to the record. Hopefully then Leila would hear it. I knew she would automatically know that it was about her. I was praying that she would give me another chance. "Hey man what are you doing?" Michael asked"Looking over this song that I just finished. I got inspiration from what you said about making Leila miss me and I kind of put it into a song. Here, what do you think?" I asked, giving him the piece of paper that I wrote the song on. He quickly read over it."Dude, I think this actually sounds pretty good. Let's get this to the studio." Michael said, grabbing his keys off the counter before making his way out side."Now?" I asked"Yeah, man. Now. This could be a possible hit right here. Show it to Zach and Matt and see what they think, the rest can be edited and everything. That's a damn chart topper right there," He replied. Honestly, it felt good to be moving a step in the right direction. If it actually became a hit and a chart topper, there was a huge chance that Leila will see it and automatically know that it is about her. ~A few days later~Today's the day that Make You Miss Me hits the radio. It was such a fast process. I'm surprised it went that smooth and that quickly. I sat down with Zach and Matt the day that we went to the studio, recorded it a few days later and then sent it to the radio. I've been loaded with Tweets and Facebook posts and messages with congratulations. Now, the hard part is done. I just let things slowly fall in to place in hope of Leila realizing it's about her. I'm not positive that it will change our positions but at least it shows that I've tried. It may already be ruined, though. It seems to be that Brian and Tyler and getting pretty close with Leila. Of course. I always wait too long and end up not getting my chance. "Hey what do you think about going out with the crew for drinks? I mean, today is kind of a big deal," Michael said"Yeah, sounds great. It's already four o' clock, y'all just wanna get dinner, too? Call every one up. I'll go get ready" I replied, before walking off. Maybe tonight would turn out good. Getting out with friends is definitely something I need and that I will hopefully benefit from.
