~Leila's Point Of View~
Well, here I am, on a plane making my way to Nashville Tennessee to meet up with Sam. I had gotten a text from him two days ago, with the simple message of "Meet me in Nashville Thursday afternoon at a diner that was popular around town. Apparently the name was Jay or Joe's family diner. I honestly had no clue about anything that was in Nashville or anything about Nashville. All I knew is, that it was music city and Sam was now a rising country star with a huge ego and a large amount of fame. As if he wasn't cocky enough before. I sighed as the woman that was next to me on the plane began to speak.
I sadly had gotten a window seat and to say the least, I was extremely nervous. I had always been a fan of heights or planes, for that matter. And I knew driving would be way to stressful and I honestly didn't know if my car would make the trip. Apparently some friend of Sam's was picking me up from the airport. I guess his name was Michael and he was also an up and coming country star that was from Florida, but his popularity wasn't rising as fast as Sam's.
"Hi, I'm Rose. How are you?" The older woman, who looked about seventy with her wrinkled skin and light blue sweater covering her white shirt, with round glasses behind sad eyes, said. Her voice sounded sad, as well. The sadness behind her voice and in her eyes made me wonder. Why was she sad? How come she was traveling? Why was she alone? Curiosity about this woman was literally eating me alive, and I had no clue why. She was so mysterious.
"I'm okay. How about you? Leila's the name, by the way." I said, politely.
"Beautiful name. And I'm okay, too, I guess you could say." She replied, shakily.
I wasn't sure if the shakiness in her voice was because of her nervousness from flying, the fact that there was a slight chill on the plane, or if it was just the voice of a sweet old woman. But something about here was so intriguing. She was extremely mysterious and almost secretive. She was very quiet and reserved and cautious, as well. Almost as if everyone on the plane was a murderer seeking for none other than her.
"Thank you. What brought you here?" I asked, referring to why she was on a plane traveling to Nashville.
"I'm going to visit my grandson," She replied, sweetly.
"How about you?" She asked.
"That's nice. And me, well, I'm here because my ex boy friend is in Nashville and he wanted to talk and this was the only option." I replied, with a hint of sadness.
I was still hurt, no doubt. I would always be hurt by Sam. Not only because he left me after so long of being together, but because he left our unborn child as well. I would always be hurt. But as time went by, I would learn to live with it.
The next few hours were mainly taken up by small talk between Rose and I. She was a really sweet woman and she reminded me a lot of my grandmother.
My grandmother who passed away when I was fourteen. She was an amazing woman, no doubt. I had all good memories of my grandmother. She was what every grandchild would want and more. She was that grandma that made cookies and let you eat them for breakfast rather than having a "healthy breakfast". She was the woman I had admired since I was a kid and I could only hope to be half as great as what she was.
Finally after what seemed like forever, the plane had landed and I was getting my bag from baggage claim. I sighed as I looked around for a person holding a sign with my name on it. I would look for a person, but I had no clue what this Michael guy looked like. I guess a smart thing to do would to have googled him, considering he was famous.
