~Leila's POV~
After a extremely long, tiring, drive I had finally made it to my parents house. It was a total of three and a half hours away from Monroe Georgia, which was where I was currently living. I had lived here since I started going to college.
"Ugh! Honey! It's so good to see you!" Mom said, pulling me in to a hug.
Her hugs are the best. Especially when I'm as broken as I am right now.
I mean, first I have to go through a breakup, and then I have to deal with being pregnant with his kid. Never mind the fact that he doesn't want to be a part of his child's life. It's pathetic and just goes to show how much of a shitty person Sam actually is.
"It's great to see you guys, too" I replied hugging my dad.
"Okay. Well your room is same as it ever was. Go and relax! It's late and you have had a long drive." Mom said, walking in to the house helping with my load of bags.
"Thanks. And alright, I will" I replied.
It was about one in the morning so they would probably be going to sleep any time now. I was extremely tired, that is for sure. I never stay up this late, anyways. Nor do I usually drive almost four hours, either. These past few weeks definitely had a lot of changes. Changes that were happening way to quickly for my liking.
~The Next Morning~
"Mom! Dad! Can I talk to you guys about something please?" I asked, walking in to the kitchen to find my parents at the table drinking their morning coffee. I sat at the table, as well, across from my mom and next to my dad.
This was going to be extremely hard to do, but I knew I had to do it. They deserve to know that they are going to be grandparents soon.
"Sure, honey. What's up?" Mom asked
"Well, as you guys know, I'm with Sam. Well was with Sam. But anyways, I found out something the other day and I'm pretty much screwed." I said
"What is it?" Dad asked
"I- I'm pregnant" I said.
"Oh my God! Leila! That's great!" Mom replied
"We're so happy for you!" Dad said
Wow. Their reactions are a lot better than I expected. But in the end, this isn't great. Raising a child without a father isn't great. What Sam did, wasn't great. Even though, I'm the one that called the breakup, if I would have known I was pregnant, I wouldn't have. I screwed up and it's all my fault.
"Well... It would be great if Sam wanted to be apart of the unborn baby's life" I said, trailing off.
"Leila, you know everything will be okay. Whether he has the balls to be in the babies life or not, you'll be a great mother. Don't forget that your mom and I are there for you, too. We always will be." Dad replied
"Thank you." I said
"Your father is right, Leila. Don't worry about it, ok? Everything will work out. And sooner or later, you'll realize that everything will be okay." Mom replied.
Maybe they were right. Maybe everything will be okay.
