Chosen...
I dropped my pen on the desk frustrated and watched it roll away to the other end. I had been going through the same page again and again. It wasn't working. I couldn't concentrate no matter how much I tried. Letting my head lay on the open book, I closed my eyes. My mind once again drifted on the events of the past few months.

Why was this happening?
"You can sleep at home. This is where you study." A voice interrupted my thoughts and I couldn't be glad enough for it. Looking up I saw David giving me his usual glare.
"I wasn't sleeping." I mumbled as I closed my book. I was in no mood to have any argument with him right now.
"This isn't a place for daydreaming either." He snapped again but I did not reply. I had never understood what his problem was. My only mistake was dropping my coffee on his favourite shirt two years back and since then he had turned into my personal devil. Somewhere along the way I just got used to it and ignored him but past few months had been annoyingly weird and I couldn't keep a grip on my emotions. Ally had asked me a million times already if she could punch him but I did not want to create any more troubles in my life.
"You going back to being a zombie again?" he asked mocking me yet somewhere I felt like there was a hint of concern in his tone.
Great! now I am hallucinating.
"Just leave me alone David." It came out sharper as soon as I registered more than just the tone of his voice. His words scared me.
Zombie? again?
I did not want that phase of my life back again. I took in a deep breath and walked past him clutching the books way more tighter then needed. Bottling up my anger I stumbled through the array of tables making my way towards the entrance of the library. I wasn't paying much attention to where I was walking when I slammed into a hard body making me fall back. My books scattered across the floor as I sat shutting my eyes for a moment out of annoyance.
Ofcourse this had to happen..
"Watch where you walk." The guy snapped not even bothering to help. I grit my teeth.
Damn! I'll have to arrange them into the order again.
"Cathy!! No noise in the library. Watch while you're walking!!" Mrs Rogers, the librarian whisper-yelled at me and turned around to walk away. I was fuming with anger now.
Does anybody care to help around here? there's a girl on the floor with books surrounding her.
I slammed the book on other in my state of anger and it made a loud noise again. Mrs Rogers gave me a warning look and suddenly I wanted to disappear. My teachers didn't like me. I was messing up and I couldn't explain what was happening. however many times I would say it wasn't my fault. they didn't believe me. I wasn't a rebel nor did I lack in my studies. How could they not believe me?
I snapped out of my thoughts as I heard a weird noise around me. I looked around to see the bookshelf shaking wildly. A fat encyclopedia landed right next to me making me shriek. I was too shocked to move.
Earthquake!!!
I grabbed my books and tried to get up but my foot slipped again. Another book landed on my right side and I looked up from it to see David staring at me with his eyes full of horror. In the next second he was running towards me but a noise pulled my attention. I looked in front of me to see the Shelf leaning and it was going to fall right on top of me.
I am dead...
I tried to back away with my hands but soon enough I was being dragged. as I heard the loud crash my face had been pulled into a chest. Breathing hard I looked in front of me to see Mrs Rogers standing across the mess giving me a bewildered look.
"You can let go now." I heard the voice near my ear making me jump. My eyes met deep blue ones and I realized I was still holding on to David with him partially hugging me.
"I am sorry and thank you.." I stuttered out as he lifted me up. His face was a cold mask again as he steadied me and walked back.
"Just don't...don't talk to me ever again." he muttered and I could notice a hint of fear in his eyes.
So the person who hates me saved me from a earthquake and now he doesn't want to talk to me.
Is it good or bad?
Well I din't get to figure that out as the incident changed my life forever.
