Chapter 8. (First Dates and Make out sessions)
Chloe's POV
"Ouch." I groan as the sun starts breaking through the closed curtains of our now trashed apartment. It feels like there is something in my head pounding, trying to get out. "What the fuck did I drink last night?" I ask aloud to myself getting up and trying to climb over people to get to our kitchen. Holy shit it's nearly two pm. I drink two aspirins and start cleaning up, waking people up and telling them to leave as I go along.
By five pm the whole flat is clean and I'm exhausted I would love nothing more than a date with my bed now. After a shower of course. Just as I'm about to turn around and go to my room the doorbell rings. "I'm coming." I trudge over to the door before looking over in the mirror next to it. I look like shit, maybe that will scare whoever it is off and let them leave me be.
"Luke?" my voice sounds so surprised and to be honest I am surprised. "Hey... Uhm sorry to just barge in like this but... Uhhh... Do you... maybe... like want to. Go. Out. On ... a... Date with me?" he stutters letting me know that he's super nervous "Yes!" I say a little to excited but I don't even care. But then I see my reflection again. "Oh god." I start to panic he is literally standing right there and I look like a mess. "Well you come in, make yourself at home. I'll be out in a few minutes. I'm so sorry." I rush and pull him inside before running to my room.
I quickly check how it feels outside before going to pick out an outfit. I decide on ripped, light wash skinnies, with a short black and white pattern tank top and grey vans. I grab the clothes with some fresh undies and bolt to the bathroom. I take a quick shower before getting out and leaving my hair to drip dry. Then I just apply a few streaks of mascara and lip gloss. Checking myself in the mirror. "Better." I whisper to myself before leaving the room again.
"Wow" Luke lets out a gasp the moment I enter the room. Making heat rush up my spine and create a warm pool on my cheeks. "Sorry about earlier." I reply shyly before giving him an official hello hug. "Nah, don't stress it. Uhm these are for you.' he stuffs a bouquet of red roses in my hand that I didn't notice before. "Awh their lovely." I bring the flowers close to my nose to inhale their wonderful aroma. "Thank you Luke." I lean up onto my toes placing a small kiss onto his cheek, before blushing again.
"So where are be going?" we exit my building and he quickly stopped at what I assume is his car. "Not far, it's low tide now. So we're just going to take a walk across the lagoon and up towards the heads. That way it won't be such a long walk and once we're up the're we'll have a picnic" He motions to the basket in his hand. "It's sounds nice" I smile as we start walking towards the lagoon making small talk.
As we're halfway through the empty lagoon our hand graze against each other and I find myself blushing, instead of leaving it there Luke takes my hand in is intertwining our fingers. I look down at the mushy sand beneath us, a small smile tugging at my lips. The salty air of the ocean lingers in the air as we both walk together in a comfortable silence. Just then, me being me, I somehow twist my ankle when we get off the damp sand and onto the small hill that we have to climb. I let out a small gasp of excruciating pain and with in seconds Luke is right beside me.
"Are you okay?" his eyes is full of concern and I feel like and absolute idiot. "Uhm, I don't think I can walk." I say softly in embarrassment. "No worries." a smirk places itself onto his face. Just them I'm hoisted onto his back and let out a loud squeal. "What are you doing?!" I ask loudly. "This date ain't over yet." he says before he starts speed walking his way up the hill. And within minutes we're on top. looking at the waves crashing against the two heads protecting our little town from the rough waves of the ocean.
Luke sets me down near a huge rock while he gently lays the blanket onto the floor, before helping me to sit down placing a cushion behind each of us. "Well, I can't really cook so I had one of my friends, Calum, prepare us some food." he looks at me while taking the rest of the stuff out of the basket. "Oh wow." I look at the tubs of salad and cold cuts and so on. "He doesn't mess around does he?"
"Well he's a bit of a dork" we both laugh and dig into all the food and it is the amazing. "Tell your friend he's a pretty good cook." I say once we finish eating. Our date was pretty silent so far. I kind of like it. It's like we're in no rush to get to know each other. Like we'll find each other along the way. The wind is picking up a bit and a cool breeze goes over us. I find myself shivering when we pack away the excess food. Luke notices and makes me scootch over, so that I'm right next to him. He places the cushions behind our heads making us just lay there and stare at the stars."Chloe?" his voice is hushed almost as if he's afraid to speak. "Yeah." I turn my head to him my eyes meeting his blue one our faces merely centimeters apart. "Will, you be my girlfriend?" he asks me slowly, almost hesitantly. And I mean I'm a bit scared to answer. I've only known him for a couple of weeks.
My face inches a bit closer to his, and then it happened. Our lips collided the moment a huge wave broke against the rocks creating one of those amazing movie scenes. His tongue swipes across my bottom lip begging for access and I easily grant it to him. And that is how the rest of our evening went. Never going any further than just making out. Until we decided to call a cab and go home.
