Bella looked stunning. When she saw me she greeted me with a hug and followed me back to my car.
The drive took about 20 minutes but Bella didn't mind. She'd keep making jokes calling me Smelliot or saying how this journey was longer than the time we could talk in maths class. She fumbled with the switch, turning the radio on. She lowered the car windows, her hair blowing in the wind, she closed her eyes. "I love the idea of being free, Finn. The feeling of escapism, getting in the car and being able to go where your heart tells you. Don't you love that?" I slowly muttered a yes, letting her enjoy her moment.
When I stopped the car she opened her eyes.
"Where are we, Finn?" She asked confused by where I had taken her.
"The meadows," I smiled. I held Bella's hand which was soft and smooth. I watched her eyes beam as she saw the emerald green grass and the roses that were growing from it.
"It's beautiful," she smiled.
"That's why I wanted to take you here, Belle."
We walked for a little while, forgetting everything, feeling free.
I reached into the bag pulling out a camera.
"What are you doing, Finn?" I smiled taking a photo of Bella as she laughed, her hair blowing in the wind.
"Stop it!" She shrieked, bursting into laughter. I laughed at her laughing, snapping a photo of the two of us. Me staring at Belle and Bella looking at the camera. The photos printed out, I showed Bella then slipped them into my coat pocket, saving this perfect moment.
" you're not even looking at the camera!" Bella sounded disappointed.
"If I had my eyes on the camera my smile wouldn't be as big as when I'm looking at you". I replied.
She nudged my arm: " it's perfect but a mess," she smiled.
"A perfect mess," I agreed."You know what," I said "I love the feeling of being free, the feeling of being able to go anywhere and everywhere. If I could choose to be any animal in the world, I would be a bird."
"A bird? Why a bird?" She questioned.
"I love the idea of flying. Or being close to falling but being able to pick yourself up."
She squeezed my hand, shivering as the sun fell. I took off my leather jacket, draping it over her shoulders and wrapping an arm around her to try and take some of the cold away from her.We sat down, I carefully pulled the blanket out my bag, wrapping it around our shoulders. I pulled out some food and a bottle of wine, the two glasses clinked as they touched each other.
"To freedom," I smiled.
"To freedom," Bella said in return as she clinked her glass against my mine.
I took a sip of the alcohol, I felt the liquid burn in my throat." Tell me about you, Bella Hunter," I requested.
Bella thought carefully, then responded: " My mum died when I was little.
My dad decided it was time to get away from all of the memories so we moved here...
I miss my friends but some how you make all the pain disappear.Finn Elliot you make me happy".
She rested her head on my shoulder.I stopped the car when we arrived at her house. The rose still remained in Bella's hand.
"Thank you, Finn." She smiled as I walked her to her front door.
"See you in maths, Belle."I hugged her and kissed her cheek, inhaling her perfume and the smell of strawberries.
She held onto me and I held onto her, both of us longing for this moment to last.❉ ❥❃ ❂❁❀❉ ❥❃ ❂❁❀❉ ❥❃ ❂❁❀❉
