Armin's whole body went still, but shortly began to squirm and quiver like he was just electrocuted. His hands were flailing around as Levi grasped the blond boy's head in place. His mouth was wide open, sending silent screams to fill the air, screams that could never be heard. Eren was watching in horror and he wanted to turn away, but he couldn't help but want to watch as the life was seeping out of his dear friend. He went limp once more and his breathing was gone. Levi pulled away and Eren could have sworn he saw a look of disgust on his face, but it was gone when he looked again. The vampire was wiping blood off the corner of his mouth.
"He should be up again in a few hours," he declared. "His blood tastes too plain."
Eren laughed, but it wasn't of humor, but of pure nerves. He was shaking and he was trying his best not to burst into angry tears again. His friend was technically dead at that moment. Armin was deadly pale now, and it was weird to see him not breathing.
"Where do we take him?"
"My place of course. It would be dangerous for me to try to carry the both of you first, so I'm going with him then you. It'll be very quick." Levi kneeled down to the ground and began to delicately lift Armin's body off the forest floor.
"Are you sure he's not dead?" Eren asked before Levi's wings could sprout from his back again.
He frowned at the response. "Well, logically speaking, he's dead at the moment, but don't worry. He'll be alive and at your neck within a few hours. It should be a very heart warming welcome." He was sarcastic of course, then flew off into the clear skies. Eren watched until he couldn't see him no more.
He walked out of the lurking shadows and stepped into the sunlight and basked in it which suddenly reminded him of something. Could Levi be exposed to sunlight? When he really thought of it, he never bothered to look at Levi out in the sun when he had the chance. Not like he cared, though; he hoped it gave him some bad effects because after all, they were supposed to be enemies. Making deals with a vampire was the same as selling your soul to the very devil.
Levi was back by the time Eren was finished having a little argument with himself.
"It didn't even pass a minute and you're back already?"
"I don't like to disappoint. Come on. Let's head to my place." He opened up his arms like he was expecting Eren to go along with everything and hop in.
"How do I know if you probably hid his body somewhere and you're planning to get rid of me?"
"For fuck's sake. I wouldn't get rid of you," he said with frustration as he hissed. "Do you want to see your friend or not?"
Eren shrugged but finally obliged. He knew he was being stubborn, but he was also not certain if it. Just trust issues.
They were lifted off from the ground and he flew once again at the amazing speed. Levi swooped and soared past the trees and dodged many branches until he zoomed into what looked like a ginormous fissure. They were heading underneath the earth and all Eren could think was how freezing cold it was as the wind grazed his face. He felt tears begin to escape his eyes as they flew even faster. He couldn't see a thing as they ventured deeper and deeper. It was nothing like he's ever experienced before in his life. After a few more seconds, Eren squinted and spotted a glow of light and it got bigger and bigger.
Levi flinched and held him tighter as if he sensed something was off. "The other vampires down here can smell you. Stay calm if they approach."
Eren jumped down from Levi's arms as soon as they reached the ground again and gasped aloud. The view he was seeing was so odd and incredible. It appeared that they were in a town with lanterns lighting the entire place, but it was still dim. The ground was built out of stone tiles with plants that looked like vines twisting and grow through the cracks. The houses were small and cozy looking, made out of wood and stone, but they also looked so delicate- almost as if they were about to break.
