Eren couldn't help but feel extremely guilty as the wind hit his face and stung his eyes. The feeling of the blazing heat was gone, but his heart wouldn't calm down. He wanted to know why there was a sudden terrifying flame lit to the wooden houses underground. Of course he was aware that the Survey Corps were curious about the existence about scary blood sucking 'mythical' beasts, but he had no idea they hated them so much to the extent that they would to kill them all in a fire. They didn't even know much about them; why did they decide then to make their move?

It appeared suspicious to them and Eren had a feeling that they were possibly lying when they told the soldiers that it was their first time seeing the pale and bloodied monsters. The army knew that the murders were most likely caused because of them, but they didn't do enough research. Everything was executed way too quickly.

Levi's face still held this pained look as they swept past the branches of the trees and swooped downward after a long period of time. They were almost knocked against a giant oak tree as they descended, and Levi staggered backwards once his feet brushed the earth.

"I don't think you're fine," Eren muttered and lifted his arm to hold his shoulder in order to steady the vampire, but flinched when he tensed up.

"Don't touch me," he said curtly. "I told you I'm fine. I'm just a little weak and tired, but it's nothing. Just give me some blood and maybe I'll feel better."

Eren raised his eyebrows as if questioning him, but didn't speak back and obliged. He unbuttoned a few buttons from his shirt to expose his shoulder as the thirsty vampire looked at it dreamily and hungrily.

"Go on. We don't have all night, we still need to find Armin." He gestured with his arm for him to come over and didn't even blink when he reached his side in less than half a second. "Just take a s-"

Chomp!

Eren hissed in pain as he felt the fangs pierce into his tender flesh and the blood running down his shirt lie a small stream. He clutched Levi's hair and tugged at it angrily as his other hand gripped Levi's marble hard arm.

"That hurts, you bastard."

It was like he was trying to suck all the blood dry from him with force, and it was awfully painful. Eren could feel his eyes water up, and his lip tremble from the burning and harsh sensation. Never in his life had he imagined he would run off with some vampire and serve him his blood. When Eren was a child, he always thought he would murder vampires and satisfy his thirst for revenge ever since his parents were killed. Past Eren would be disappointed and ashamed.

Levi pulled away after a few minutes and swiped his mouth with his white but muddy sleeve, which didn't really do anything. He smeared the scarlet substance across his mouth and down his surprisingly pink lips and licked at it. Eren shoved him away and glared at him with menacing eyes as he stared him down.

"You need to be more gentle. Unlike you,  stupid leech, I am a human being," Eren snarled. "You're hurting me."

Levi had this unreadable expression on his face; something between calm and alarm.

"I apologize. I won't do it again," he told him as Eren relaxed. He was glad he actually agreed to be gentle the next time. It made him feel a whole lot better in the situation.

Eren buttoned up his shirt and nodded. "We should go find Armin now. Knowing him, he's probably lost."

"He's near," Levi said and took a quick whiff at the air. "He's not moving around much, and he's also trying to find us as well. Follow me, and stay close."

Eren trailed behind Levi silently as they brushed past the tree branches and the clawing bushes. He could see the sun going down and melting into the dark rim of the night coming to paint the sky. He wished to stop and admire it like that time he did with Levi, but the sound of guns going off had froze him in his track, startled. The air was suddenly too chilly for comfort.
