Chapter 3
After my third lesson was over it was lunch. I had told Lara everything about my short conversation with Robin. I assumed we were going to meet at the corner of the field again so I made my way there. He was already there, waiting. He was leaning against the fence smiling. He always smiles! That's one of the many things i like about him.
"Hey beautiful!" He joked. I smiled, a little embarrassed.
"Hey handsome!" I joked back, a little shocked I said that. He carried on smiling.
"Now that you know a tiny bit about me, how about you tell me something about you?" He asked.
"Oh, ok. my favourite colour is green, I was born on the 17th august. I have a little sister called Kailey. She is very annoying." i laughed. "My dad died when i was eight. I didn't like him though, he was..." I don't like talking about my dad. He wasn't really a dad. he was an alcoholic and a drug addict. My mum said he wasn't the man she fell in love with.
"What?" He asked.
"H-he was, umm. He was an alcoholic." I answered.
He nodded slowly, obviously knowing there was more.
"He was also a drug addict." Tears threatened my eyes.
Robin approached me.
"It's OK. I won't tell anyone." He said. He sounded serious too. i couldn't help but believe him.
"Thanks." I sniffed.
"Have you had your lunch?" He asked.
I shook my head, my stomach was grumbling loudly which had been the whole way through the conversation.
Robin got out a blanket from his bag and layed it on the floor. It was a green checkered pattern, it was nearly the same green as the luscious grass. I got out my lunch box and took my sandwich out, we sat down at the same time.
"Why are you bothering with me?" I asked curiously. there are many other prettier girls than me, plus he has his guy friends.
"What do you mean?" He asked raising his eyebrow.
"You have other friends than me, yet you hang out with me but you don't know me. I would of thought you would, you know, left me at the first break."
"What are you saying, you don't want me to be with you?" he asked. There was a hint of agitation in his voice.
"N-no, not at all. It's just I'm not the best person to be with..."
"You and me both." he mumbled, looking away.
"Huh? What do you mean, your gorgeous!" I blabbered.
He looked less shocked than I was. I can't believe I just said that, to his face!!!
"Heh, thanks for the compliment but I'm not the good guy, I'm bad Kacy. I won't do you any favours. you know what, I shouldn't even talk to you- I need to go." And with that he ran off at an impeccable speed.
