Chapter 20

I woke up in a familiar room and a familiar pair of brown eyes.

"Morning sleepy head." He said quietly. I looked over at the clock on the wall, it read '1:15' PM. I've been asleep a long time. I tried to get up but I was still exhausted.

"Oh, and one more thing. You are in wolf form at the moment. Come with me." He said. I'm in wolf form? What do I look like.

I managed to just get out of bed. Robin must of noticed my behaviour because he said

"You are the most beautiful wolf I've ever seen." I smiled in my head.

We went into the kitchen to be greeted by his whole family.

"Wow." I heard Alex mumble.

I looked around the room. Everything was more clear now. I could see the dust particles floating around the room and the whole place smelt of wet dog.

"You must be hungry, you want to go hunt?" Robin asked. I looked at him wide eyed. How was I supposed to hunt?

"I'll teach you. Come on." He said, walking towards the back door.

"I'm coming too." Alex said. I flattened my ears. I could sense some tension in the air.

"Sure, why not?" Robin said and carried on outside the door. Preferably to shift.

I padded outside with Alex at my side and they both shifted. It was a bit confusing telling which was which because they looked the same but their scents were different so that helped a bit.

'OK, first things first. You don't need to worry about how to hunt, it comes to you in instinct. We'll hunt rabbit first.' Robin thought.

'OK.' I thought back to him so he knew I understood.

All three of us ran deeper and deeper into the forest. I occasionally got distracted by different scents but I soon got back on track.

'Slow down now and let your instincts kick in.' Alex thought.

'How do I know when my-' My nose went wild. I followed a scent I assumed was rabbit and came to a little ditch. There were holes everywhere from the rabbits making their warren.

One little rabbit was isolated from the rest of them. I crouched down low so I was unnoticed. I stalked closer and closer until I was within jumping range. I took a deep breath on pounced landing gracefully on the rabbit and ripping it's neck off of it's body.

'Well done!' I heard the boys think in unison. I smiled a wolfy grin and began eating my catch.

When we returned back to Robin's house I was full. Blood stained my muzzle after I had hunted and eaten 17 rabbits.

The boys changed and grabbed some clothes that were waiting just outside the back door, I assume they were placed there by their parents.

"Now, for the tricky part." Robin began, rubbing his hands.

"You need to learn how to shift back. Alex'll go get some clothes for you." He said, looking at Alex at the last bit. Alex nodded and jogged inside to get some clothes for me.

"All you have to do is take a deep breath and let it happen. Don't resist or it won't work."

I nodded my head and waited for Alex to return with my clothes so I wasn't standing there nude for 5 minutes before he returned.

Seconds later Alex came out with some spare clothes I had packed in my bag and layed them a few metres away from me. I nodded a thank you to Alex.

I engulfed a deep breath and closed my eyes. I could feel my bones change in my body for 2 seconds before I opened my eyes to see I was my human self again. That was the weirdest experience ever.

I picked up my clothes quickly and put them on. Still a little shocked at how quickly it happened.

"Wow..." Was all I could say.

"How was your first hunt Kacy?" Laura asked, coming out of the kitchen.

"I-it was amazing." I said. It felt great to be wild for once.

"Good." Laura said, smiling.
