Chapter 8

I sat on a rock in the clearing, Robin had a look on his face that scared me. He was really serious about what he was going to say. He took a deep breath and began. He looked me straight in the eyes and said.

"I am a werewolf." Scanning my face for any sign of fear. What!? He's a werewolf?! How is that possible? A billion and one questions bounced around in my head. I must remember to keep calm though, this isn't eash for him or me. My face remained normal, I didn't want him to think I thought he was a monster. I had read about them in books and films but that's it. I never thought they were real. The fact that I had a crush on one scared me a bit.

"Y-you aren't, you know, creeped out by that?" He asked sounding a little scared. I shook my head. If that's what he is, then that's what he is. There's no need to be scared, should there?. He carried on.

"I'm- i'm afraid you are my... mate. The reason I ran when we were getting... attached was because I didn't want to hurt you. If i lose my temper, or lose control, I could hurt you or even kill you." He said. Mate?

"What are mates?" I asked shyly.

He breathed a sigh of relief when he definately knew I was not going to run.

"A mate is someone a werewolf loves. But not by choice, one knows when he or she is their mate when somethings sparks when they touch. When your mate is around, everything changes, it's not gravity pulling you to the earth, it's her." He explained. I nodded my head all the way through. I thought being a mate was... beautiful. The fact I had one was even better.

"I will be protective of you Kacy. Which will mean you will need to get used to me being around. I need to ask you something though, if you accept, we will have to do a ceremony, if you decline, I will be destroyed." He said a little nervously.

I looked at him contently for him to carry on.

"Will you accept being my mate?" He asked.

"O-of course I will." I said truthfully. His face lifted into an intimate smile.

"Then we must perform the ceremony as soon as possible. Do you want me to explain what happens?"

I nodded my head "Please."

"Well, first you must become a werewolf. Since I am the future alpha of the pack, you will be the alpha female. And the only way the others will gain your trust is if you are like us. Then we shall do this ceremony which will show our love for each other, which will involve... mating." He said. I was a little shocked. But if it meant he will be happy, so will I and so I will definitely accept. Plus I had this sudden urge to do anything to make him happy.
