Rain's POV

Alistair patted my back.

"I cant believe that after all our preparations his death would be too easy." Alistair said.

"He underestimated his enemies. He became too sure of his reign."

"And he wasn't expecting you to come back and be the one to kill him! He really is such a fool! Well! All thats left is to celebrate! We have everything we need here! Blood! Wine! And women! Why not take advantage of it?" Alistair said in his jovial tone.

I wasn't in the mood to celebrate, still frustrated over the easy victory i left him standing on the throne. I handed the head to one of my men with instructions on having his head impaled on the courtyard until the sun burns him to ashes. Then I left and explore the castle. Everywhere we looked slaves and vampire were running and screaming to get away. When i came out into the the right wing if the castle i noticed it was silent. Then i heard a crash, i followed the sound and found it in a room. In it i notice the servant girl i saw at the banquet rummaging through different drawers. She pulled out clothes, papers, robes even gold and jewels yet she didn't took instead she threw them away and kept on destroying the room. Even from the door i could hear her mumble.

"Where is it? Blazing moons! Where is the key! Must find it to help the princess!" She said. Then finally she found a rusty looking key and exclaimed in happiness.

Then she ran to a huge painting of Servius lifted it and threw it on the floor. Behind was a door she used the key and opened it then took a torch and went in. Until now she hadn't noticed that he was following her. He arrived in a room that smelled of blood and decay. Then he heard a cry of despair and saw the servant kneeling in front of a body on the floor.

What made his blood ran cold wasn't the fact that the room smelled but the fact that a body was NAILED to the floor. And not just any body but the little girl who saved his life 10 years ago!

"What in blazing hells?!" He roared.

The servant girl jumped in panic and took a protective stance in front of the girl.

"Stay where you are you barbarian! I wont let hurt her any further!!" She said.

Rain ignored the servant and hurriedly went to her side and pushed her away so he could have a better look at the girl. She was covered in blood. Her hands and feet were nailed to to the floor and by the looks of the wound it had festered. He felt rage at the one who did this to the little angel who saved his life.

"Who did this? WHO DID THIS?!!!" he roared at the servant girl.

"Servius. He thought he could harness her powers if he could trap her in this dark pentagram. It worked but it only lasted for a while. He was too indulge in it that he forgot her in here. Please!! I beg you! Help her! We must save her!!" She begged.

"Whats your name?" He asked

"Odessa."

"Do you know of any healers?"

"Yes!"

"Summon them."

Immediately Odessa left to do his bidding. Left alone with the girl he observed how small and frail she was. Her breathing was shallow and her her eyes drooped. He caressed her cheek and found out she was cold to touch. When she felt his touch she opened her eyes and looked at him.

Her smile caught him off guard.

"You came back." She said.

"I made a vow that I would." He said in a gentle tone which surprised him because he was never fond of children. He doesnt know how to handle them yet this child with the understanding of long years and in the midst of pain smiled at him. And he was able to talk back like he was talking to a friend.

"Forgive me for what i have done. It was the only way for you to defeat him."

"What do you mean?"

"I know what my uncle was planning to do. So i had to give you my blood, the source of my power, my ancestry so that he couldnt use it for his own evil purposes. Forgive me." A tear slid down her cheek.

"Hush little one. Save your strength you will need it heal." He wiped the tear away from her dirty cheek as she drifted off to sleep.

Then the sounds of shoes shuffling and gasps heard behind him made him turn around. He saw what he thought would be the healer and his aides together withe the servant Odessa. They all stood looking at the girl in shock, this infuriated him.

"What are you all standing there looking like stupid statues? HELP HER!!!!" Rain roared at them.

The broke out of their trance and then they all start to move. The healer an old looking vampire went closer and inspected the injuries of the girl.

"We have to take out the nails in order for us to treat the festering wounds." He looked at Rain with remorse in his eyes but he looked back at him in determination. Then Rain ordered Odessa to bring clippers the healer started his preliminary assessment.

"From the looks of the rust in the nails it had been embedded in her for a long time... She has lost a lot of blood and hasn't feed also."

"What in the blazing moons is going on here?!"

Rain turn around to see Alistair standing by the door. Rain walked over to him so that he wouldn't be a bother to the healers.

"You know her?" Rain asked because all the chaos he never really knew a thing about his little savior.

"I know her?! She's Princess Aleah the last living Blood Sorceress and the rightful ruler to the Vampire throne!!! Her death could lead to our extinction!!"

He was shocked that such a small and fragile girl could have so much on her little hands. Tortured for years by her sadistic of an uncle. He was still thinking when Alistair said something that brought him back to the present.

"Why is she still in the body of a little girl? From what I've heard she should be 17 moon cycles already old enough to be Queen." Alistair asked the healer.

"She was nailed to this floor for 10 years my lord. The lack of blood to nourish her has prevented her from healing herself plus the inverted pentagram is also preventing her from growing."
