Rain's POV

Thaddeus Harlan

The illegitimate son of Theolus Harlan. He was the one that Aleah want to take over.

"HIM? But he's a bastard! The title only falls on the first born legitimate male child of the family. He cant take my place! It's against the law!" Harlan said.

"Then I will make a new law. I am the Blood Queen anything I say is the law. And i want him to take your place." Aleah said. as he neared Aleah. He stopped at a considerable distance away from Aleah then kneeled before her.

"What is your name, my lord?" she asked.

"I am Thaddeus Harlan, your majesty. Third son of Lord Theolus Harlan of the South district." he said.

Aleah just kept looking at him. Looking straight into his amber eyes the genetic telling that he was truly a noble of the Harlan family.

"A life of abuse and pain and yet kindness is still inside. You think yourself weak but true strength doesn't lies in the purity of bloodlines. Its what is in here." Aleah touched the chest of the young noble with her little hands

She the went back to her throne and sat on it. Looking at the nobles like the true queen she is.

"I give you the lands, title and power of a Lord of the South District. Should you accept prosperity and life will return back to the district if not it will perish. So what will your decision be, my lord?" she asked him.

"I... accept."

"WHAT?! NO! YOU BASTARD! You are illegitimate! Not of noble blood!" The former district lord said.

"Whose fault was it?" Thaddeus answered back. "The fault to which i was born is not on me but on you! it is not my fault that you couldn't help but place your attentions elsewhere when you have your own bloodmate! It is not my fault that the South district is failing! It is not my fault that our people are dying! And it is not my fault why you are here in front of the Queen stripped off of everything you own because all this is YOUR. OWN. FAULT!!!" He said.

By the way the boy poured out all his frustrations he has a lot of grief and anger pent up inside.

"Why you BASTARD!!!!" Theolus tried to lunge at Thaddeus but before he could reach the boy I stab him, letting my sword pass through. Then i cut off his head as the final blow.

"That was a warning to any one who tries to threaten my reign. Listen everyone! Everything will change! My ruling will not be the same as Servius or that of my Mother. Blood slaves will be banned, equality will be enforced and peace and prosperity will be known throughout the lands. This is the Golden Age of the Vampires!" She proclaimed.

A lot of the nobles gasped at her declaration.

She stood up and left the room through a door. I called one of my men forward.

"Have this mess cleaned."

I looked at the new young vampire lord making him understand that he needs to step up to his new responsibilities, when he nodded back, I left to follow Aleah.

When I entered the room I saw her slumped in the middle of the room, panting and pale. I immediately rush towards her. I bit into my wrist and offered my blood to her.

"Drink Little one, drink" I coo ate her while rubbing her back to soothe her.

After a while she stopped and drinking and placed her head on my chest while holding on to my hands like it was giving her strength.

"Did I do the right thing?" She ask me.

"What do you think?"

"I think I did."

"Then you shouldn't doubt yourself anymore Little one. You are the Blood Queen have confidence that you will do what is best for all of us. And always know that I will be there beside you to help."

"Oh no my lord! You have done a lot to help me. you have sacrificed a lot to do this. I can't allow you to tie yourself here I am sure that you have a lot of things to do than stay here." she said while looking at me.

"I don't have any family, little one. And if you say about me taking all of Servius' wealth is true then I have a responsibility in managing it."

"It is true. And thank you."

They heard somebody knock on the door. Aleah righted herself before calling the person in.

"Come in."

Alistair came in with Odessa.

"Your Majesty?"

"Lord Alistair could i ask a favor of you?" Aleah asked.

"Anything you ask Your Majesty it's yours." he bowed.

"I wish to have a meeting with the District Lords tomorrow at moon rising. Could you please arrange that?"

"Consider it done Your Majesty."

"Thank you. And i would be glad if both you and Lord Rain could attend too."

"Of course Your Majesty." Alistair said.

Aleah looked at me and i gave a nod confirming my attendance to the meeting.

"Thank you to the both of you. For everything you have done." Aleah said.

"We did it for the sake of our people. Well I did while I am not sure if Rain is that patriotic. He has far more personal reasons." Alistair grinned.

Bastard. I looked at Aleah and she seem to blush after a while.

"Come Dessa. I wish to rest. Could you please help me?" she asked.

"Of course Your Majesty."

She reached for the servants hand.

"And would you sing my favorite lullaby for me?"

The servant smiled a small and gentle smile before she enclosed her hand in hers.

"As you wish your majesty."

When the both of them were gone Alistair turned to me.

"Despite the fact that she was imprisoned for 10 years she still hasn't lost that childish innocence of hers"

I nod.

"Are you going to stay? You already had your revenge." I asked Alistair.

"Of course I will stay. This is what my mother wants, what I want, to support her through her reign." He said.
"What do you think will the meeting be all about?" He added.

"I don't know. But I am sure that it will change our lives."
