Rain's POV

I was standing in the shadows watching all those pompous nobles groveling at the feet of Aleah. She was sitting on her throne dressed like a queen. Well a small queen actually.

I don't know how that servant Odessa pulled it but she was able to don her in blood red gown that flow like a waterfall to the ground, her long platinum blonde almost white hair is up in an intricate style that i don't know how to call. A black crown studded with blood red diamonds and black earrings dangling from her small ears. her face wasn't caked in make up but what Odessa did almost made me didn't recognize her at first glance.

This wasn't the fragile little girl i saved a while ago. This was a queen. The Blood Queen of the vampires.

"Your majesty! Im glad you are safe and well! I always knew that you were alive!" Lord Harlan was kneeling in front of the dais. It is quite obvious that he wasn't sincere with his words.

Aleah just looked at him with a blank stare.

"Who are you?" she asked him in with that angelic voice of hers.

Most of the court members tried to muffle their laughter and snickers at the embarrassed Harlan.

"Your majesty I am Theolus Harlan, Lord of the Southern District. I am a loyal subject of your majesty. My district is the richest and largest in the kingdom. That is why i offer my services to you." he gushed.

"Who are the other lords of the other districts?" she asked the crowd.

I saw Lord Dragos came out of the crowd but not before leaving a lingering kiss on his Bloodmate, reassuring her. Then two other nobles came out of the crowd. One was black haired and wears blue robes and the other a brunette wearing gold robes. They all kneeled before her and introduced themselves.

"I remember you." Aleah said as she looked at Dragos. "You were there when my mother died. You were with someone..."

"Yes your majesty. I was there because i had to accompany my bloodmate." he said.

Aleah looked at the red haired noble in the crowd and a look of recognition flashed across her face.

"Ah. mother's best friend. Aunty Cata... Im glad that you are fine." she give a small smile towards Lady Catalina. Then she looked towards the other two lords.

"Your Majesty allow me to introduce myself first. I am Sigurd Lanza Lord of the West district." the brunette lord said.

"And I am Melchior Banthus, Lord of the East district."

I saw Aleah stare at the bowed heads of the four lords as if she was trying to read something. Then she looked into the crowd and her eyes focused on a young looking noble hidden in the shadows.

"Who is that boy over there by the large plants?" I asked Alistair.

"That's Thaddeus Harlan, the youngest son of Lord Harlan. Not much is known about him except that Lord Harlan doesn't regard him in such a high manner. Rumors have it that he beats the boy since his mother is blood slave."

I arched an eyebrow. "What is wrong with having a child with a blood slave?"

"Blood slaves are considered the lowest of the low in vampire hierarchy. they are treated like animals who needs to killed and used for their blood. I never liked that type of discrimination and i hope Her Majesty would do something about it."

"How could you expect a child to make such decisions as big as changing a whole kingdom?" i scoff.

"Just watch my friend. Being a queen is in her blood. She was born for the sole survival of us vampires. We are like a hive of bees we cant work without a queen. She may look young but it is ingrained in her to lead." Alistair said.

My attention was brought back to Aleah as she stood up and slowly walked down the dais. I immediately tensed, preparing myself for any unexpected attacks. I notice that beside me Alistair did the same, his hand on the hilt of his sword. I also took note where my soldiers were placed and if they were ready and they were.

"I sense darkness in your heart, my lord." Aleah said as she took a step down the stair.

"Y-your Majesty?" Harlan said.

"Poverty is present among your people, sickness and death spread amongst them and while they suffer and toil with work your coffers are filled with their gold. Injustice and corruption is what you rule Lord Harlan." she said as she neared the arrogant lord.

Lord Harlan was shocked at what Aleah said.

"P-preposterous! Lies! what proof do you have?" he said.

"What more proof that you need than your own blood?" she said.

It was as if we were thinking of the same thing because the next thing i did I appeared behind him, grab his hair to expose his neck. I took out a dagger sliced it open, it was deep enough that blood spurted out on the floor but i knew that it wouldn't kill him. He screamed clutching his bleeding neck.

"Oh shut up you bastard! it will take more than a nick in the neck to kill you." i said.

I looked at Aleah and saw her staring at the pool of blood at her feet. With graceful movements from her little arms she was able to create a ripple in the puddle of blood.

The crowd was silent, watching as the blood rippled more on the marble floor. Then with just a flick of her wrist the blood flew into the air earning a few gasps from the crowd.

"You words may say otherwise but blood can never lie. Behold your sins!" Aleah said.

The blood in the air formed into a wide sort of sheet. From it the nobles and soldiers were able to see all the atrocious things that Lord Harlan committed. people are dying from hunger, humans are being treated as animals and aimlessly being killed, Harlan exploiting the people by having higher taxes and many more.

"Th-that is not true! That didnt happen your majesty!" Harlan said. He tried to crawl towards Aleah but I made sure he stayed a few feet from her.

"Your crimes cannot be covered my because your own blood condemns you. As punishment you will be stripped off your title, your gold and land will be taken from you and you wont govern the South District anymore." Aleah decreed.

"WHAT?!! But who will take my place?" Harlan said.

At that Aleah looked at the crowd and into the eyes of a certain noble and she raised her hand and pointed straight at him.
