Aleah POV

We went through a series of hallways until we reach a set of double doors. They were big and heavy so Rain was prepared to open them for me but I  just stepped forward and touched the door and it immediately opened!

We entered inside a wide garden which is enclosed in a glass case but at the centre top is an opening showing the full moon. I took off the veil I was wearing, and the shoes on my feet and left them on the ground so I could run around and look at the flowers.

"It's been so long since I've felt like this!" I said.

"Like what?" asked Lord Rain.

"Free."

"I am glad you feel that way. Are you happy?" He asked.

"I am. Thank you for everything." I said.

"It should have been me who should thank you. You saved my life." Aleah replied.

"then consider our debt to each other even." Rain said.

I stepped into the gardens with Rain following behind me. He was walking calmly while skipping and twirling and laughing. The feel of the air and the light of the moon feel so good.

"My nanny told me about you, Lord Rain," I said while twirling to the next group of flowers.

"She did? Alistair's mother told you about me? And what did she say about me?" he followed behind the little girl calmly, ensuring he did not lose sight of her.

"She told me that as a human you killed my kind. And that every vampire fears you that they called you 'the slayer'.

Lord Rain stopped walking. He was stunned at the knowledge the child possessed of him. He did not know what to say.

"Do not worry I do not hold against you. You were just trying to survive." I stopped twirling and looked back at him.

"What if I did not do it to survive? What if I had another reason for killing a vampire? What if I liked killing vampires? Do not assume that you know me just because of some rumours your nanny has told you." Rain said in an irritated voice.

"I may not know the reason why you killed my kind. Was it because of war? protection? bloodlust? I do not know. But what I do know is that you are a good person." I reached for Rain's hand and held onto it.

"I know that you have suffered unimaginable pain in your past from humans and vampires alike. I know that you had done things that most people could never do. I will never hold that against you. But what I do know Rain that you are not evil. I know what true evil is. I've experienced its horror. And I know that I would not experience from you. I know that I am safe with you." I looked him in the eye.

"How?" he asked.

"Because you are my Bloodmate Rain."
