Chapter 11

Rain's POV

The moment I felt the sun dipped in the horizon i woke from my deep slumber and prepared myself for todays activities. I stepped out of my room fully armed and proceeded down the hallway to Aleah's room to check on her. When i opened the room her ever loyal servant Odessa was wiping her face with a wet towel.

She stood up as she saw me, placed the towel back in the bowl and left but not without murmuring that she will be back. I went and sat beside her noticing that she is still weak and wasn't recovering that fast. Then I remembered what the healer said about my blood helping her. I bit into my wrist and placed it on her lips then with my other hand i tried to caress her throat to get her to drink.

"Drink little one, regain your strength. Drink"

Then I felt her throat moving as she swallowed the blood I offered. Then I felt her tongue hesitate to lick at my wrist but the moment she did a strange fire shot through my body it made me feel this unusual desire. Then Aleah opened her eyes and you can already notice the changes. Her skin is slightly gaining some color, and her cheeks are starting to plump as if she had been eating for a long time.

"Thats it. Very good little one." i cooed.

With this encouragement she grabbed onto my arm and started to drink voraciously like a water deprived person finally drinking water. I placed her on my lap to make her more comfortable. Then I looked at her injuries and saw that they were already closing and healing and forming scars and the weight i can feel her gaining by the second by drinking from me is astounding! When she was done she licked at my wound and i could feel it close and she let go of my hand.

"Thank you Lord Rain for everything." she said.

"This is the least that I could do for everything that you have done for me." i said.

"I am humbled by your thoughts my lord."

"Please! I am no noble! I do not wish to be called a lord like those pompous asses in your court!"

"I see... My uncle has degraded the status if nobility... But you are a Noble now Lord Rain, you defeating my uncle has given you the right to the throne. If anything happens to me you will be next in line to be crowned."

"Then we'll just have to make sure that nothing happens to you, little one." i said

"What?"

I wasn't able to respond when we heard a knock on the door and Odessa came back carrying a pail of water. When she saw Aleah awake and sitting on my lap she gasped and let go of the pail. Tears pooling in her eyes as she exclaimed in joy and rant to Aleah, kneeling in front of us.

"Your Majesty! oh your majesty! you are awake! I am so glad! so glad!" she was crying while trying to touch Aleah's nightgown reverently.

"Dessa... I am glad that you are alive! I missed you so much!" Aleah said. She reach out and hug her.

"What is going on here?"

I looked up and saw Alistair standing and looking at us in puzzlement then he saw me cradling Aleah while she was hugging the servant and his eyebrow raised in curiosity. This made me groan and let go of Aleah as this would cause more questions from him that I didn't want to answer.

"Hello! I am so glad that you are well this eve your majesty! You had us all worried when you didn't wake up!" Alistair said in his usual cheery self.

"Please forgive me for causing you such worry my lord...?"

"Alistair! Rain's best friend and second in command! At your service your majesty!" he bowed.

"Alistair... You're name is very familiar sir..."

"It might be because my mother has mentioned it sometime?" He said.

"Your mother?"

"She worked here in the palace, Your Majesty... As your Nanny..." he said.

"Nanny? Oh!! You are Ali!! Nanny has told me stories about you! She was very that you were the leader of the rebellion! Fighting for the good of our people! Where is she? How is she? I didn't see her when i woke up."

"Well... Your Majesty... my mother... has been dead for 10 years already."
