Chapter 12

Aleah's POV

Dead?

Nanny is dead?

My beloved Nanny is dead?

Ten years?

Those were the thoughts that keep running through my mind as I look at the group of people who saved me.

"That's not true! I just saw her yesterday! We were able to get out of the dungeon before Lord Rain escaped! Isnt that right my lord?" I look at the brave warrior who saved my life.

"Little one that was ten years ago. after I escaped I was able to look for Alistair's group. He took me in taught me how to live this life." he explained.

"A few days later i was informed by my spies that Servius killed my mother and had her body burned in the courtyard for all to see." Lord Alistair said.

I couldnt breath my nanny was dead for ten years? But my body...

I looked at the bandages and tear them off and saw the hideous scars all over my arms. How could this happen? My body is still that of a young girl when ten years have passed!

The inverted pentagram!

The nails!

The whips and chains!

The pain!

All the memories rushed through my head! and a scream came out of me. I screamed out all the pain, anger, loss and sorrow. As i was screaming and crying I felt arms surround me and from the warmth i felt i know that they were Lord Rain's. I kept on crying until i fell asleep.

I opened my eyes and saw that I was still in my room. Now that I noticed it this were my mother's chambers.

"Im glad you're awake."

I looked to the side and saw Lord Rain sitting by the bed watching me.

"How long have you been sitting there my lord?"

"It doesn't matter. The important thing is if you're alright now?" he asked.

"I am." i replied not looking at his eyes.

"Liar."

"I-"

"You're mother was killed by your uncle, you were nailed to the floor for ten years while being drained of your blood, and to add to that is that somebody important to you died. Dammit! You are not alright!" he rage.

Tears pulled in my eyes and i sniffled. i was crying again. I am such a child! Then i felt warm hands cupping my cheeks and wiping away the tears. I even felt soft lips on my face as he also kiss the tears away.

"Its alright for you to cry for your loss and pain that you experience. Go on and cry because when all the tears are gone it will be replaced by a smile and everything will be fine." He said while rubbing the tears away.

I realized that he was right. i need to be strong for the sake of my people. I smiled and reach up to him so that I could embrace him.

"Thank you."

We stayed in that position until we could feel the rise of the sun. He reluctantly left me so that we could sleep. And i went to sleep with a peace that i have never felt in a long time.

I woke up to the gentle sounds of movement. When i opened my eyes i saw Odessa holding some clothes. Then she noticed me silently watching her.

"Your majesty! im glad that you're awake! how are you feeling this eve?"

"I am fine Dessa. I was able to feed so I am feeling better."

"That is good, your majesty. Now what do you want to do?"

"I-"

Before i could finish the door burst open and a noble entered my room. He looked so ridiculous in his outfit. Is that what people wear today? One look at him and i know that i shouldn't trust him. Immediately Dessa stood in front of him, clearly not pleased with his visit.

"What is the meaning of this, my lord? As you can see her majesty can't endure long hours of-" Odessa wasnt able to finish what was she was going to say when she was interupted.

"The nobles are getting agitated. We really need your presence right now your majesty."
