Chapter 5 - The Prophecy
Kayla's P.O.V
The forest was silent. The only sound was that of tyres eating up the trail to the pack's oracle cabin. Mona lived separately from everyone else since many feared her and the power she holds. I've only seen her once, when I was about 14 or so. She seemed nice enough but I could feel the power radiating from her.
I could feel my mates' eyes on me the whole trip. I wanted to demand that they stop staring at me since it made me uncomfortable. I was still so confuse about this whole mess.
Eventually we pulled up to an old log cabin in the middle of nowhere. It looked abandoned except for the smoke coming out the chimney.
As we got out of our vehicle, I stepped closer to my dad. He gently placed his arm around me to take away the chills. At the door, Alpha Bradford knocked before it was opened by the most beautiful woman I've ever seen.
She had sparkling blue eyes and thick blond hair to her waist. Her floor length yellow skirt and loose red blouse looked as if it's seen better days but that didn't take away from her beauty.
As she looked at Alpha Bradford, her eyes brightened.
"Alpha," she bowed.
"Rise Mora."
Her eyes landed on his sons before noticing my father and I.
"Luna," she bowed. "Finally, I have waited for this day for so many years."
"Um -" I stammered. "Please. Rise. I mean, I'm not your Luna - I mean -"
She looked at me confusedly before seeking clarification from Alpha Bradford.
"Mora, can we please come in?"
"Of course, where are my manners? Please, come in," she said opening the door wider.
The inside of the cabin looked nothing like the outside. The interior was warm and filled with soft light. There was two sofas in the living room and pictures were hung on the walls. It looked....well....normal. I expected to see bottles and jars filled with various ingredients and a large pot filled with witch's brew. Even the black cat was missing. My expectations was shattered.
"Please have a seat. I'll be with you shortly,"
I sat next to my father while Alpha Bradford sat with his sons. I was twisting my fingers when Mora came in with a tea tray and a large old book framed in gold. She poured the tea, handing each of us a cup before she sitting on a single chair next to me. The silence was finally broken by Alpha Bradford.
"Mora we've come today because my sons, Kayla and her father need answers. Kayla found out today that she is the future mate to both my sons."
Mora smiled brightly, however that happiness dimmed as Alpha Bradford continued.
"Neither Kayla nor my sons have accepted or rejected each other. We have come to you for answers. I learnt of the prophecy when I became alpha but no one here knows of it. I felt it was better if they heard of it from you."
My head swiftly turned towards Alpha Bradford.
"Prophecy? What prophecy?"
"Very well, Alpha Bradford," Mora sighed. "Please give me a moment to cast a sacred circle. Even though we are in the middle of nowhere, evil entities have a way of finding out things."
"What is a sacred circle?" my dad asked cautiously.
"Think of it as a sound proof room. Only those inside could hear or see what is being said." She explained. "Could you please move the furniture to the corner over there," she pointed
