Chapter 8 - Under Attack

Draven's P.O.V

I was in the study when Don and I were mind linked by one of our pack member, Jason, who was out on patrol on the eastern border. He informed us that rogues were spotted entering our territory not long ago. We immediately called for eight of our best fighters to go with us to check out the situation.

I quickly shifted into my wolf form and shook out my sleek black shaggy fur. The silver chain and opal pendant around my neck shook with me. I've been restless lately, so this was just the distraction I needed.

As I went out the front door, I saw the others already in wolf form waiting for Don and myself.

'Don, where are you?' I asked impatiently.

'I'm right around the corner,' he answered breathlessly. 'I went to make sure the women and children were safe before we leave.'

A couple seconds later my identical twin wolf came running towards us.

'Alpha Don, glad ya could make it,' Jack teased, his Scottish accent heavy in his voice. 'What a beautiful day far us to get us some rogues.'

Don gave Jack a playful growl and came to stand beside me. His matching chain and pendant swung and glittered in the sun.

'Ok, listen up,' I commanded. 'Jason reported that he spotting eight rogues entering our territory from the eastern border. He is following them as we speak; therefore, he will be feeding us co-ordinates as to where to go. He also mentioned that out of the eight rogues, two are female. We may be dealing with mated rogues here, so please, be extremely careful. You all know how vicious mated wolves can be, especially rogues. I don't want any of them killed. We just want to question them. But if they attack, you all know what to do.'

They all nodded in acknowledgement.

'We'll split up into 2 teams,' Don instructed. 'Team 1, Marcus, Trevor, Paul, Zac, and myself will head south east. Team 2, Damon, Tony, Jack, Lance and Draven will head north east. Both teams will run the border and run them inland since we don't want to give them an opportunity to run off our land. Our father has been informed of situation and will have several men with him guarding the main house and pack village. Do you all have any questions?'

As everyone negatively shook their heads we broke up in our respective teams.

'Don, be careful.'

'Aren't I always, brother dear?' he asked with a smirk. I shook my head as I took off with my team behind me.

We stalked through the forest silently and were almost to the border when Jason voice came through loud and clear in our heads.

'Alphas! We have a situation! The rogues are heading towards the Stephens' house!'

I stopped momentarily in my tracks and glanced at the other behind me.

'Don, did you speak to Mr. Stephens about the rogues on our land?' I asked urgently as my blood ran cold.

'No, I didn't,' he responded immediately.
