Nico's pov

Checkers suck. Those are my only words for that board game. My thoughts trail on and before I know it Percys snapping in front of my face. Apparently it's my turn. Did you know that board games consisted of back and forth turns? Yea.
They do. I hate this game. I keep losing. "You took my king Jackson. That wasn't very nice" I said. He smiled that famous lop sided grin. "Who said I was nice?" he said teasingly. Without thinking I blurted out "I did" by the look on his face I knew I should've kept my mouth shut because that grin on his face grew even bigger and I knew I was in trouble.
Somewhere in his seaweed brain something must of went off because I swear it looked like a cartoon when the lightbulb appears above your head. "Let's play truth or dare" I shot him a confused look. "You've never played truth or dare?" he asked. I shook my head.
"Well you're in for a surprise. Wait here. I'll be right back." he said and ran out the door. I sat there for about 10 minutes bored out of my mind.
I ended up walking around the cabin looking at things. I started at the desk, looking it over once before moving to the wall. I looked at the hanging pictures of him and the rest of the seven. The fact that I wasn't in any of them reminded me that I didn't belong. I couldn't let my emotions cloud over me. Not again. I stood there for what seemed like forever. I jumped when I heard a voice behind me. "You know, curiosity killed the cat" Percy said.
"Satisfaction brought it back" I replied even though I wasn't really feeling it. Percy must have known something was off because his smile dimmed, but he didn't press. He brought the bright smile back to his face and ran up to me excitingly. "Come on, " he said tugging my hand. "Where are we going?" I asked. "To your cabin to meet Annabeth and the others" he said. "Why?"
"We're going to play truth or dare" and with that, he dragged me to my cabin;holding my hand the whole way.
