I made sure all of my homework was finished before I got ready for the party. Kelsey did what she had to do and was getting ready in the third bathroom. She wanted to shower in peace.

I made sure I got my quick fix before the rest of my friends came over. I liked to get my first high by myself. Same reason why Kelsey liked to shower in peace. It was just easier that way.

I heard my dog scratch at my door and quickly hid my small baggie and put the needle I had used back in it's founding plastic container and tossed it in the trash can under my bed. I knew that was a signal my mom was coming up the stairs whenever my dog came to my door. It was as if he were giving me time to get myself together. He was such a good dog, loyal, but for all the wrong reasons, much like people.

I opened my door and saw my mom's bright face, she had a cleft lip but I loved that about her. I used to love touching it and putting flowers all over her lips when I was younger. I don't quite know why.

"What time are you leaving? Did you finish your homework?" She asked me and I stepped back, letting her inside, but she didn't, she never did.

"I did and whenever everyone else get's here." I informed my mother and she searched the room for a moment. Did she know? Probably not. I've been hiding it under her nose for a few years now.

"Is Natalie in here? She's been trying to play hide and go seek, and has been doing a real good job at the hiding part." She asked, Natalie, being my little sister, and chuckled. "No, she's probably behind the dryer." I replied, secretly envying the fact I couldn't play with them.

"I'll go check and just be sure to check in before you leave." That was all she said before leaving the front of my door; my dog followed her.

Traitor. I had thought and closed my door again.

The rest of my friends eventually joined Kelsey and I, and we were off to the party. With enough drugs in the back seat to have us doing 5 years alone.

The party was already started by the time we got there. Blasting music, flashing lights, intoxicated teens waiting for us to arrive with what they really wanted before the party reached it's peak.

I finally met the host, who was some weird kid that always made "That's What She Said" jokes in Bio. He had a very distracting pimple that sat right in the middle of his forehead and was all I was staring at as he thanked me for bringing the supplies.

I only held out my hand to get the other half of the money he owed, and he fumbled in his jeans to retrieve it.

"You're really cool for this Kristen." He beamed and I couldn't tell if he was being sarcastic or genuine. Either way, the statement was dumb.

I moved past him and rejoined my friends to head for the nearest bathroom.

Suri stood by the sink, not really paying attention and trying to get out of doing her line. She always felt obliged to be what we never forced, just asked if she wanted to but she always agreed. I don't get that about her.

"What if one of us gets too fucked up?" Perry asks, taking the dollar bill that was rolled tightly that we improvised as a straw. "Send out an emergency text in the group chat. We have to all promise that no matter how much fun we're having. We always answer the emergency text." Kelsey said, glancing between all of us. Everyone nodded their heads but I was too anxious watching Perry take her precious time with doing her line. Finally it was my turn and I ditched the dollar all together, and put my nose down against the edge of the tub where Perry had prepared my line.

"You make us all seem like amateurs." Jax teased and I smirked and reached into my back pocket to grab the other bag I had stored. It was just some crystal. "That's because you all are." I said, proudly.
