Chapter 19: Chasing

-x-

Levi's POV

Today was ordinary. I finished my classes, finished my assignments, and had some time to kill. Izzy was working, and Farlan would soon be back from his class.

I decided to go online and register for next year's classes. They were pretty basic, like math and science, but I also had more of a variety entering my second year.

The door opened and I saw Farlan with a key. He set his bag down onto his bed, and shut the door. He seemed happy today, a lot happier than normal.

"Hey." I said, diverting my attention from my laptop to him.

"Well hello there. When did you get here?"

"About an hour ago or so. What's made you so happy?"

"Thinking about you," I raised an eyebrow, and he quickly said "my best friend."

"Okay." There was a pause in the conversation.

"Anyway, we need to talk." He pulled a cheap fold-up chair to the end of my bed, and plopped himself into it.

"Go on ahead, I'm listening." I said, clicking on a course description.

"Could you get off your laptop?" His tone was harsh. "Please." He added, smiling.

"Okay. What's up?"

"Well, Izzy said you and Eren are planning on getting married?" Farlan licked his lips, scanning me. I shifted uncomfortably.

"Uh, yeah, but that was betw-"

"Let me finish!" He said, his voice rising. "Well, I just think it's a bad idea, especially because he's literally one of the first people you've dated and you have so much more to experien-"

"What are you trying to say?" I said, suddenly offended.

"If you're looking for someone, well, available, you know where to find me." He winked, closing the space between us. "For more experience."

"Excuse me, but I'm the happiest I've been in my life. I'm not going to trash that just because you think tha-"

"We both know it's true, though. You're only using Eren to get yourself out of your depression."

"H-how could you even say that?" I felt anger pulsing through my veins. "If you're going to act like that, then you can leave." All I could see was red. Why was he saying this?

"Oh no, I'm never going to leave you side. I'll be with you until the day you die. But Eren probably won't, you know how the typical Aries can be."

"Wha-? What the hell has that got to do with anything?!" I slammed my laptop, and he seemed shocked by that.

"Give me a chance Levi. Just one night, I can make you forget everything about Eren."

"Stay away from me! Stop talking! Just STOP!" I grabbed my phone and ran out of my dorm. I stormed past everyone, getting weird looks.

"What're you looking at? Get out of my way!" I yelled, stomping anywhere my anger could take me. I dialed Eren's number and sat outside on a bench. The sun was sinking, the sky growingo darker every minute. Early spring brought cold nights and chilly breezes.

"Hey Levi, what's up?" Hearing Eren's voice calmed me completely. Suddenly, I forgot why he was so mad.

"Hi." Was all I could manage. Eren chuckled.
