Chapter 11: Colors

Levi's POV

To me, everyone has a color that describes who they are. Mine just happens to be grey, and Eren's orange.

⠀⠀You're most likely thinking, Levi, those two colors don't match. And you're correct, they don't. But matched together, they don't look so bad. Maybe, and just maybe, the orange could brighten the grey. That is why, I have given everything Eren, to this relationship.

⠀⠀His optimism and enthusiasm shines through the walls I've built up in the years. The rays of sun are breaking my walls, and I feel worried that I will hurt more than I ever have if I lose him.

⠀⠀Fighting with him hurts both of us. Every word I say to him is a bullet to me. I don't like hurting him, but this bottled anger inside is hard to contain.

⠀⠀So today, I was going to make that change. There was only a week until college started, and I wanted to spend that time doing whatever I wanted.

⠀⠀I dialed Eren and coughed. For some reason, I thought of my relationship goals and aesthetics. One of the things I really wanted was to go to a farmer's market. Just the thought of the homemade food and sour lemonade made my mouth water.

⠀⠀"Levi? Are you there?" His voice snapped my thought.

⠀⠀"Oh yeah, hey." He snorted.

⠀⠀"Hi."

⠀⠀"Do you wanna do something today?"

⠀⠀"Yeah, actually. Pick me up in fifteen." I hummed an "mm-hmm" and hung up. Now, something cute.

⠀⠀I wore a thin collared shirt that wasn't a solid white. Unbuttoning it until it was near my sternum, I put on a sun hat and black tinted Ray Bans. What would complete this outfit? Man capris. Or are capris unisex?

⠀⠀I put on grey Sperrys, and I thought I looked decent. Odd as it was, these capris didn't have huge ass pockets like cargo pants.

⠀⠀Next, to the car. My cellphone and wallet were put in my booty pocket, and I hopped in, taking a right.

I rung his doorbell, and he didn't answer, but his mum did.

⠀⠀"Hello Ms. Jaeger. Is Eren ready?" Being polite was too hard.

⠀⠀"Come in! And please, call me Carla." His dad wasn't here, which was good. They didn't get along well, which is peculiar, because usually dads and sons could relate.

⠀⠀"So how's everyone?"

⠀⠀"It's just us." Carla said. "Has been for a while. But what I find strange is this house seems bigger without him. But I like it."

⠀⠀Recently, Eren's mom left her soulmate, Grisha, because his verbal abuse. She was packing all of his things, because the court sided with her for custody.

⠀⠀"Ma, are you sure we can keep up with all of the work this house needs?" Eren said, coming down the stairs.

⠀⠀"If we have chore day, then yes. But you'll have to help out." He sighed, but nodded. She smiled and waved us off.

⠀⠀It was a forty minute drive to the farmers market in the city, but Eren brought good albums we could pop in.

⠀⠀"Do you even like vegetables?"
