I'll Be With You

Chapter 3

Me and Carl both turn around and look at each other frightened. We hear a scream and start to run and I can feel my feet start to burn and me start to sweat. When we make it there's a man with a gun pointed at Glenn. I don't know if he is an Alexandrian or not but at that point I didn't care. I had a pistol with two bullets so I pulled the gun out a pointed it at the man's head. He was ready to pull the trigger and then a gunshot goes off I close my eyes then open them. Maggie is running to Glenn and hugging him and telling him that she loves him. Glenn gets up and runs over to me and hugs me and says "thanks Grace" and Maggie joins the hug. I see the dead man laying there dead with the bullet I put through his head. Later on I went and sat on the porch. Carl was walking by. "Hey" he said. I didn't reply. I just couldn't for some reason. He walked over and sat down next to me. "I know how it feels to kill someone, and when you kill that person you feel no better than those monsters out there." I don't say anything. I just look at him and I know what he is saying. I get that and he does too. I say "We are just another monster."
