Sky's POV-

Anger and envy I would say are the two most prominent emotions I feel right now looking on from my table during this- yet-another-tortuous lunch period as my mate sat at the table with all the popular kids. Even though Carter, Dale and his mate, Laken sat at the table with me, I envied Dale for his ability to be so carefree with his relationship with Laken and not have to worry about what others think. I couldn't publicly show my affection for Jace without him losing his place in the social pyramid and truly I do love him too much to ask him to give up something he's worked so hard for over me.

I had long ago tuned out of the conversation at my table though it was probably way more important or more enjoyable than the crap that was being spewed around the popular table. The more I heard, the more I cringed and thought of them as petty wastrels. Using my heightened ability of hearing, I'd tuned in to their conversations which consisted of gossip and rumours about other kids at the school, parties, sex, derogatory comments and statements that were supposedly funny to them. Though looking more closely, both Sasha and Jace just looked on with a poster smile on their faces which meant that like me; they were uninterested in the lowly conversations their 'friends' were having.

Jace's eyes met mine from over one of his friend's shoulder. His emerald green eyes that I'd fallen in love with moved to the side, his head following as he motioned to the door then back to me then back to the door again. A few moments later, he whispered something into Sasha's ear and kissed her cheek before leaving the table altogether and walking in the direction of the exit. He looked back briefly at me and arched a brow.

I waited a few a seconds before excusing myself from my table and walking out after him. The halls were empty which shouldn't be a big surprise since most students were in the cafeteria, some in detention or in club or other activities. Walking down the hall of lockers, I checked around the wall on the right but didn't have a chance to really look before I was pulled by the arm from the left and slammed into the wall between the last locker and the hallway we were currently in.

Arms immediately wrapped around my neck and I returned the gesture without hesitation as that familiar sensation set out through my body the first time we touched. Jace quickly placed a chaste yet wet kiss on my lips before pulling away and grabbing my hand in his and proceeding to drag me along.

"Where are you taking me?" I asked after about two full minutes of walking. I know our school is big but where on earth is he taking me?

"The boiler room." He replied briefly looking back to me.

"Just what are we going to do in the boiler room?" I asked teasingly although I had a pretty fair idea of what he wanted. Not a lot of students went down to boiler room but those that desperately wanted to do it did. However, I knew Jace wasn't ready to go all the way; that and also given the situation with my wolf still being out of control, sex was prohibited. Sure, we could mess around but I cannot indulge in any erotic sexual behavior because I might just lose complete control.

Mating during transition and especially without the alpha's permission was strictly prohibited since two years ago. Two years ago there was a case where two packs faced peril over mates. One pack's beta was still in transition when he mated with his mate. Though his mate was a werewolf, she didn't make it. He'd lost control and she paid the price for it. In another pack, a werewolf had a human mate and I say had because this guy's mate died. So yeah, I didn't want to chance it although I was getting a hang of it.

Jace led me deep into boiler room stopping between a wall and some PVC pipes. Yeah, we were so far down here; the principal would probably need Dora the explorer to find us.
