You felt sick.

The sensation of butterflies overwhelmed your insides with each second. Outside of the window, the world seemed so different already. Each single strand of grassed looked to be filled with so much colour and life. Inside the grand car you sat with a handful of other VK's, all buzzing with excitement.

For the first time in your life, everything was going your way.

Freedom.

A fresh start.

Your father all the way back on the Island.

And him.

Just the thought of him made you feel sick with anxiety. You wanted to see him. There was nothing you wanted to do more than to hold him in your arms once again, but what if things were different?

You stared out the window and for the first time all day, allowed a frown to spread across your face. For some reason, you could only picture the bad.

What if he doesn't want me, Isle trash, anymore?

What if he found a gorgeous princess or prince and fell in love?

What if...what if he's not the same Carlos de Vil I knew and loved?

You felt a warm hand rub your arm. Drawing your focus away from the outside world, you made eye contact with a petite girl.

"It'll be alright, (Y/N)," she smiled sweetly, "He cared about you too much to ever just leave you like that."

Suddenly, the car came to a stop outside a grand castle-like structure. It was unlike anything you'd ever seen before. Towering over all the tree tops like a giant and spread across kilometres of land, the school almost looked intimidating. Out front gathered countless students all dressed brightly which caused you to look down at your leather outfit insecurely.

A man dressed in a classy suit opened the door, letting a swarm of excited chatter flood in from outside.

In front of everyone stood four comfortingly familiar faces. Like all the other teens awaiting the group's arrival, the four were dressed nicely. The look appeared strange to you seeing that the last time you saw the bunch they were wearing all leather, just like yourself.

All the VK's in the car leapt out without hesitation, yet you floated to the back of the crowd. By this point, the anxiety was at its worst.

As you approached the four gradually, you forced a weak smile. Making your way down the line, you greeted Mal, Evie and Jay as old friends, pausing for a moment at the final boy. For a while, you both stood staring at one another.

Was your heart going to burst or break? It was hard to tell.

Eventually, a tear ran down Carlos' freckled cheek. You bit your lip, trying to hold back the painful tears welling in your sockets.

Breaking the silence, he spoke, "See? I told you we'd see each other again in a bit."

Finally, you broke.

Tears began to run down your cheeks as if somebody turned on a faucet without any intention to turn it off. You flung your arms wide open and leapt into the boy as he wrapped his arms around you also.

"I missed you," you cried uncontrollably into his warm chest, "I missed you so much Carlos it hurt. Some days I thought that I would never get to see you again and everybody would just call me pathetic and Dad would scratch me and it all made me realised how much I needed to be in your arms. It hurt, de Vil, it hurt."

You felt his wet tears fall onto the top of your head, but didn't mind.

By this point you failed to care how many people were watching; you'd been craving this very moment for months.

"I love you. I love you so much that I didn't realise how much I did until you weren't by my side. It pained me to think of you over here, leaving me behind...CARLOS, PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF LUCIFER SAY SOMETHING."

His lips pressed against your ear as he whispered, "Not a day passed when I didn't want to see your face. I love you (Y/N) and no distance, no adventure will ever change that."

You were broken apart by the surprise bark of a small dog.

Confused by how calm Carlos was reacting, you pulled away and asked, "A dog?"

He let out a light laugh as he wiped his tears, "Man do I have a story for you."
