As yet another icy breeze met my fair skin; chills ran down my spinal cord. Shuddering, I rubbed hands together to try to stay warm.
I looked down at my bare, shivering knees and muttered nonsense under my cold, annoyed breath. To top everything off, I had left my jacket back in my room...in the middle of winter...again.
From my right, my best friend laughed lightly, "Seriously dude, what have you got against long pants?"
I didn't reply. Instead I shot Jay a fierce death stare. He smiled in response.
"You're cute when you try to act mean," Jay exhaled with a smirk.
My freckled cheeks flushed as pink as Evie's lip-gloss.
"Jay, I've told you before!" I spat through gritted teeth, "Don't talk to me like that in public. It's embarrassing, okay?"
"Awwwh is my little puppy in a bad mood because he's cold?" the boy cooed. He took a quick step closer to me and threw his toned arms around my neck. Playfully Jay began to roughhouse with me; scratching my head and pushing me around.
"Jay, Jay, Jay," I screamed as the boy lifted me over his shoulder; my limbs still too cold to feel.
"Carlos, Carlos, Carlos," he mocked humorously.
I squirmed ferociously in Jay's tight grip. That seemed to be his own unique way of showing affection. Annoying? Yes. But at the same time, strangely adorable.
Eventually he dropped me to the damp, icy ground. For a while I sat there, pissed. Out the corner of my eye I saw Jay watching me with that seductive twinkle in his eyes.
Breaking the silence he spoke, "The girls should be here any minute."
I bluntly huffed in response.
Then suddenly, a big floppy piece of cloth landed on my head; sending my vision black as pitch. Lifting what seemed to be a sleeve to get a clear view, I saw Jay standing before me, jacketless.
"Go on," he sighed, unable to not smile, "Put it on you big baby."
Naturally, I slid the soft hoodie over my head as I rose to my feet; a sweet, comforting aroma filling my nose.
Jay laughed uncontrollably.
I held my arms out to the side of me and looked myself up and down. I pouted. The sleeves of Jay's hoodie went well and truly passed my hands, the neckline way out of proportion and the shoulders not starting until half-way down my arms. It ended just above my knees; looking as though I was drowning in a pool of my boyfriend's clothing.
I raised an eyebrow at Jay and couldn't help but chuckle.
"Thanks," I muttered, still trying to be in a bad mood.
Taking a step towards me, Jay threw his muscular arms around my shoulders and gave me a genuine hug. He looked down at me, resting his forehead against mine just so our nosed touched ever-so-slightly and whispered, "You're really, really cute when you're pissed and wearing my clothes," before giving me a little peck on the lips.
Raising an eyebrow once more, I retorted wittily, "I know," as I pressed my lips against my boyfriends. Something about his taste was completely irresistible.
From a peck to a deep passionate kiss, I couldn't help myself. Jay squeezed my hand firmly in his almost to say to any pass-byers that 'I was his and his alone'.
Then, somebody cleared their throat. "There you two are," they continued, "We've been waiting forever!"
Both Jay and I pulled away dopily. I could feel my cheeks burn a ferocious red.
Mal and Evie stood, trying hard to conceal their grins, but failed miserably.
"We said to meet at the back of the building," Evie bit her smirk, "Not the front."
