Chapter 38 - The Date

Ꮗe walked out of Levy's house, Lucy's arm linked with mine. All of us couldn't help by flash smiles at each other as we walked down the street to where I planned to take everyone. Lucy looked up at me and I grinned.

"What are you planning?" She asked, tilting her head slightly.

"Nothing! Can't you trust me?" I retorted poking her cheek. She blushed and nodded.

"Of course, I can!" She retorted. I smirked and kept walking, her arm laced around mine. I couldn't stop smiling looking down at her. She was so beautiful, and technically we weren't dating, but we were. I don't think anyone realised that the dance was tonight except for the guys and I. So when we approached the school the girls were so confused.

"You couldn't have forgotten could you?" I asked, looking at Luce. She looked up, obviously have forgotten. "It's the dance, Silly Goose." I poked her nose and sighed. "Good job."

"Is it really?" Levy asked, literally astonished. Gajeel looked at her and sighed.

"Shrimp, as much as you actually pay attention in school, I thought you of all people would know that."

"Shut up, Gajeel!!" The book worm yelled at her date. He shrugged and we climbed the steps and walked in.

As soon as we walked in all eyes were on the most popular group at Fairy Tail high. I felt a large surge of magic power crash down on the area and I didn't feel so well about it. I could tell Luce didn't like it either, she grabbed onto my arm a bit tighter. "I don't like it in here," she murmured.

"Me either. It feels weird." We walked further in and sighed once we realized all of us got one big table for our whole group. They put down little place cards for us. 

"Oh great!" Mira exclaimed, "They did just what I asked!"

"Huh?" Levy asked, facing Mira with a weird face. "Did you do all this?"

"Yeah! I figured since it's Lucy's birthday that she'd want to spend it with her friends, and it's her first year at the dance at Fairy Tail High, so I got us all a huge table and  made sure all of you guys sat in the correct ships."

"A-Arigato," Lucy murmured, looking up with a smile. "Thank you so much, Mira."

"Of course!" Mira said waving her hands happily. "I looked forward to doing this for you." Lucy smiled and hugged my hair and rested her head on my chest. 

"You guys are the best!" Lucy gawked, holding her now red and burning cheeks. I hugged and pecked her cheek. 

"I know I am." I smirked and Lucy blushed harder, hiding her face. 

"AWH!" Levy screeched, her face lit up. "So you guys are a thing!" 

"I guess you could say that," I answered before Lucy could say any form of rejection. She turned to look at me and smiled.

"Mhm," she agreed. Mira jumped out and let out a squeak. Soon enough, all eyes were on us, and no one could take their eyes off of Lucy, especially the girls. But, they had more of a 'I'm gonna kill you' look plastered on to their faces. Although, the guys had me worried, especially Loke. He started at Lucy with the most love-struck eyes, he could pass off as a lost puppy. We ignored them and continued to hang out in our small group of friends. No one really paid attention. I smirked and looked at Lucy. 

"Miss, may I have this dance?" I asked quietly. She smiled and nodded.

"Of course you may," she murmured. Taking my hand and walking out into the middle of the gym with me. Of course, most of our friends followed us. Levy started protesting when Gajeel asked her to dance. She finally gave in and joined us. Luce looked up at me and gave me a heart melting smile. I couldn't hold myself back, as our lips crashed into on another's in a soft gentle kiss. Lucy pulled away moments later. My lips burning from the sensation. Her face was a deep red, and everyone was staring at us. I leaned down and whispered gently into her ear.

"Happy birthday, Luce." Somehow, this only caused her face to burn. She was so red faced, Erza's hair couldn't compare.

After the night was over, we all went back to Levy's and we all got ready for bed. Of course all Mira's new "ships" were all sharing a room. Luce went to go change and came back with one of my hoodies, and shorts. Her hair was down and I caught myself staring. She looked at me and blushed. "Natsu," she murmured. "You're staring." I jolted back into reality and scratched the back of my head nervously. 

"Whoops, sorry," I interjected. I smiled and sat on the bed. Lucy jumped on it, and got under the covers and curled up into a tiny ball, and closed her eyes. 

"Night, Natsu," she murmured, yawning.

"Goodnight, Lucy," I whispered, watching her. I couldn't help but smile. God, she's all mine, I couldn't be luckier.

I woke up the next morning to see Lucy cuddled up against me, still asleep. My arms curled around her small body. I smiled and closed my eyes again. This cannot be happening.
