I didn't go to school Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday, I lied to my mom and said I was sick.

My mom's friend wrote me a longer doctor's excuse that was actually needed.

I ignored all of Madison's calls and texts same with Blake and Grayson. But Grayson was the winner with 74 texts and 50 phone calls. I just wanted to be unknown for a bit. On Thursday I knew I had to go back. For one we had the huge game on Friday and I couldn't just miss school especially since it was my senior year. A fake doctor's note could only last so long.

A sat in my car in the very back of the school's parking lot on the phone with my older brother, Andrew.

"Baby sis, you sure you're gonna be okay? I know what happened in the past is hard to be spoken about. I'll come pick you up." Andrew offered as I bit my nails

I sighed "I don't wanna go back. I need to go back, Andrew. I can't miss the whole school year, okay? In the past few days, I've bitten my nails down to the numb, I haven't put on makeup since God knows when, and I haven't actually been around people. But what if Grayson heard something bad?"

"Aspen just check out if you can't do it. I'll tell mom and I'm sure she will understand or attempt to. Good luck today and keep me updated. I don't think he heard something bad if he's been texting and calling. I'll talk to you later, okay?." Andrew said with his voice getting softer

"Bye." I ended

I put my phone in the cup holder as I looked in the mirror.

I can do this.

I walked into the class and took a seat in the back.

Grayson, Blake, and Madison weren't even there which was a blessing and a curse. For lunch, I decided just to go to all my teachers and get missed work to avoid Madison and Grayson where ever they were.

 Mainly Grayson.

Then the end of the day came. Which wasn't a sign of relief more like a sign of anxiety. Cheer practice on the field since tomorrow was game day.

Everyone was in the locker rooms. Great. I threw my bag down on the side of the bench and sat on the bench. I just sat there. The girls knew what to do. We did it every game. What was the point of doing it? Everyone needs a day or five.

As I closed my eyes, I heard footsteps. Just the guys on the football team that I didn't know. I thought to myself.

"You're back." A female voice said as I stood up

I looked over to see Madison "Unfortunately."

"Do you know how worried we've been?" She yelled looking at me "Why do you look so?"

Do you know how scared I was? I wanted to say but didn't.

"I was sick." I spoke quickly

I heard two guys talking and walking.

"Oh my fucking gosh." He said running towards me and squeezing the life out of me "I thought you were dead or something."

I pushed myself away from him like I said Grayson Cooper wasn't on my agenda.

"I'm fine, I was just sick." I said with a monotone voice

" Aspen, you haven't called or text us back in almost six days. We thought you died or something." Grayson asked

"Calm down, Grayson. I just needed time to myself." I told him

" I've gone to your house every single day and you weren't there.Or at least she claimed you weren't there." Grayson accused starting to raise his voice
