I woke up after hearing Grayson sniffling and talking. I glanced over at the clock 3:57am. Grayson was sitting up with his feet swung over the bed.

I slipped on a sweatshirt and sweat pants that were on the ground then I walk around the bed and sat next to him.

"Gray? What's wrong?" I asked touching his bare shoulder

"Okay."

"Yeah we're coming. We should get there around 8."

But with every word his voice broke. Almost as if he were crying.

"Grayson!" I asked a little more concerned

He shook his head as he bought his phone down to his lap, away from his ear. He started laughing with tears down his cheek. "I'm sorry, I didn't wanna spend your birthday this way, A. That damn guy is dying. All that's keeping him alive is the machine and I'm taking him off. The bastard kept the fact that he had terminal cancer from me. My dad's basically dead. My dad is dead. My dad is dying. My fucking dad is basically fucking dead! " He yelled the last words over and over again

"Just shut up, because you aren't okay. Come here." I ordered as I took him into my arms. Grayson rested his head onto my lap and he broke.

"That's why the bastard wanted to talk about his will and have a deep conversation. He knew he was going to die and he didn't tell me. I could have put in more effort instead of being a petty fucking bitch and holding a grudge. But he hurt me A, he really hurt me, but I really loved him. I loved him a lot, now he's dead! " He got out through his tears

We sat there in the dark for a few more minutes in silence. Well the silence of Grayson's tears and me attempting to comfort him. I didn't know what to tell him. Grayson's dad was dying and a machine was all that was keeping him alive.

"Come on we have to go to the Hospice place all they way in Pittsburgh and I have to sign some stuff and see him one more time." Grayson said as he sat up

I just stared at him for a few seconds before I stood up. I handed him a sweatshirt from out of his suitcase and his nikes. I slipped on my own nikes and grabbed the keys to his Range Rover. Good thing was we didn't unpack at all. So we grabbed our suitcases as we walked down the hall of the hotel.

"I love you." I looked at him as I wrapped my arms around his torso "Grayson please don't be afraid to talk to me. Don't shut me out."

"If I was going to be afraid and shut you out, then I wouldn't have cried the pacific ocean onto your sweatpants." He said as he hugged me back

We checked out and walked down to Grayson's car and put the address into the GPS. Except I drove, because he just needed time to think. We reached the place within those five hours after a car ride of silence.

"Jennifer said we needed to talk to the lady who has the will first. She told me to ask for Carol at the front desk." Grayson said unbuckling his seat belt

We walked inside and did just that. Which got us into a meeting room with an younger woman.

"Okay so you must be Garret's son and you must be his wife?" The lady asked pointing at me

"Future." Grayson said picking up my hand

The lady smiled "So Grayson, yesterday your dad adjusted the Will he showed you a lot. Basically- well really, he left everything to you and Ms. Peterson to decided what to do with it."

"Everything?" Grayson questioned surprised

"Everything," The lady confirmed "His houses, his cars, his yatchts, beach house, and he left you 57 million dollars, all his money. He planned his funeral in advanced and paid and planned everything. Down to the flowers and the casket."
