A/n   I just wanted to inform those of you who read this story that I won't be able to update to often because of school and having to babysit a two year old (She is a big handful I tell ya -_-). Anyways, I will try my best to post on the weekends, but I cannot guarantee anything. I apologize for this, but I do hope you will continue to read my story.

By the way there is a pic of the shadow wolves on the side :)  ------------->

Recap

“Indeed.” Shiguro replies. The shrouded figure goes quiet for a moment, before speaking up again. “Dispatch the shadow wolves immediately.” The shrouded figure bellows out. Shiguro’s eyes widen. He was surprised that his lord is already willing to go this far, but it pleases him.

“Yes, my lord.” Shiguro replies with a sadistic grin. “It’ll be my pleasure.” It has been a while since he has had the chance to work with them. It would make for a very interesting game of cat and mouse. He thinks with his grin still in place. They are the cat while the girl is the mouse. The more she hides, the more we will want to toy with her.

“Dismissed.” The shrouded figure orders.

End recap

“What’s this?” I ask gently taking a small delicate looking black box out of Jiraiya’s hands. He smiles taking on a sheepish look. “It was your mothers. She asked for me to give it to you when I had the chance. I kind of forgot about it till now.” I nod my head rubbing my fingers across the soft velvet the box seemed to be made out of. I wonder what’s inside. Glancing up at Jiraiya in question he nods his head at the box. “Go ahead.” Looking back down to the box I slowly open it. My eyes widen as a small gasp slips out my lips.

“It’s beautiful.” I whisper. Resting inside the box was an elegant looking necklace encrusted in sapphire diamonds. It looked like small vines with leaves sticking out here and there, and one large jewel dangling at the end. The large dangling jewel had many colors that seemed to swirl around.

“Isn’t it?” Jiraiya says in reply also looking at the necklace. Looking up from the necklace I give Jiraiya a disbelieving look. “This was really my mother’s? “ I ask watching as Jiraiya’s eyes shift from the necklace to me. “Yeah, it is a very important necklace passed down each generation by your ancestors, and is said to hold great power. So I suggest you take good care of it, ok?” He says with a small smile. I nod my head gently closing the box, and placing it in my pocket. “Thank you Jiraiya, it means a lot to me.”   He smiles and turns around walking to the front door. “Come on, we should get going, Kakashi is probably worried.” I nod following close behind. Grandpa must have told him about daddy when he went to go talk to him earlier.

I smile stepping outside in the cool evening air with Jiraiya. The sun was slowly setting behind the clouds causing the sky to be a mix of pretty oranges and pinks. I could hear the crickets in the distance, and the buzz of people closing up shops. People were trying to buy things last minute as children rushed home so they wouldn’t get scolded by their worried parents. I slowly trailed after Jiraiya lost in thought, and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere.

Eventually growing tired of the silence I speed up my pace scrambling to catch up with Jiraiya and his long strides. “Stupid short legs.” I grumble to myself gasping for breath when I finally catch up with Jiraiya. He glances down at my heaving form with a raised eyebrow. “Something wrong?” he asks lightly. I stare down at my feet as we continue to walk. I fiddle with a lock of my hair as I contemplate how to ask him about what’s been on my mind since we left.

“C-can you tell me about my parents?” I asks hopefully still fidgeting with my hair.  He laughs lightly at my fidgeting form. “Of course.” He says looking to the sky with a languid smile. “Your mother was one of kind, and ever the curious one. She was always striving to learn something new, and continuously getting into trouble for it. She also had quite the temper, and stood up for what she believed in. You seem to take after your mother quite a bit.” He said looking down at me. I blush lightly at his kind smile looking back down to my feet. What confused me was that my mom didn’t seem like that growing up, but who’s to say that we are talking about the same people. With everything I’ve learned since I got here it seems that I was living a lie before. I don’t think he was talking about the same people I grew up with. It was nice to know my actual mother was a lot more like me. I never felt like I belonged with the parents I grew up with, but had always put it to the side when I was little.
