Finding light in a dark world (Naruto fanfiction)

~ A new team ~

“Will you two shut up already?!” I scream stomping my foot in irritation. Naruto and Sakura pause in their ranting, and give me a shocked looked. They had been continuously ranting about how late dad is for the past hour, and I’m fed up with it. My head pounded as I walked up to them, and bopped both of them on the heads.

“You should already by now that dad is never on time. What good does it do to yell about it?” I say placing my hands on my hips. Naruto gives me a sheepish look blushing slightly, and Sakura had the nerve to roll her eyes.

“We were just stating that he was not here. No need to get so huffy about it.” she says leaning against the railing of the bridge we were currently standing on crossing her arms. I see Sasuke roll his eyes in the corner of my eye, but I’m too busy planning ways to kill Sakura to really notice that Sasuke had shown emotion. Too bad too, because I would have messed with him had I been paying attention.

I took a slow step toward Sakura, and Naruto backed away noticing my menacing aurora. Smart boy, I thought with a smirk as he lets out a small whimper. He knew I was beyond ticked. Sakura just gives me an uninterested stare, but I could see the sweat roll down her face. Good she was nervous. I give her a menacing smirk walking slowly like an animal stocking it’s pray. She gulped tensing slightly, but continued to give me an indifferent look. I will give her a little credit, she didn’t show her fear.

“There is a difference between stating something and whining.” I say tilting my head slightly with the smirk still plastered on my face. “And I do believe you crossed that line an hour ago.” I growled getting up in her face. She frowned before placing her hands on her hips.

“Maybe you should have made sure he came on time. He is your dad isn’t he?” She says in a snotty tone. I growl grabbing the front of her shirt, and lifting her off the ground. “I am not his babysitter.” I growled feeling my eyes narrow in anger. She was really starting to get on my nerves. Who does this girl think she is?

“Put her down Mizuki. She isn’t worth your time.” Came a voice to my right. I turned to see Shiguro walking towards us with an amused smile playing at his lips. I let out an exaggerated sigh, before dropping her on the ground. She squeaked, but I ignored her. “Where have you been?” I ask crossing my arms.

He stops in front of me before smirking. “Oh you know here and there.” He says nonchalantly. I stomp up to him with a glare, and poke him in the chest. “You’re annoying you know that?” I ask and he looks down at me with his smirk still in place. His eyes twinkled in amusement before patting me on my head causing me to yell in protest.

“I know.” Is all he says before walking over to stand by Naruto who was actually watching the exchange quietly. He had a look of concentration on his face which confused me.  Since when was he so serious? My eyes widened.

“Oh no I’m in some kind of sick twisted reality.” I yell placing my hands on my head with a horrified look. It all made sense now. Sakura actually has a backbone, Sasuke is showing emotion, and last but not least Naruto is actually using his brain!

Wait then why was Shiguro acting normal? Unless he was the one who was responsible for this messed up world I somehow landed in. I turn to my teammates who were giving me strange looks, and my eyes narrowed on Shiguro.

“What did you do?” I ask waving my arms around to emphasis my point. He gave me a confused looked. How dare he act confused. I know he is somehow responsible for this.

“What are you talking about? Are you alright Mizuki?” He asks taking a step towards me, and I stepped back. “S-stay away.” I say pointing at him. “You did this. You put me in some strange backwards world where everyone is acting strange except you!” I growl stomping my foot. He looked at me with a blank look before bursting out laughing.
