Jaxon's P. O. V

I look up at the stained glass from my bed. The red and gold lions at battle. "Jaxon, you are being called." I hear Mason say. I resist the snarl, get out of bed, and follow him.

Not one of the stupid mutts in this pack treated me with respect. None knew about my past, but then again, Elijah never wanted anyone to know.
He didn't want a soul to know about the castle he had. The large pride he had.
Now I realized, that no matter what I did, I didn't have control of it. I didn't have ownership of that pride. That land. That castle.

My mother wasn't a wolf shifter that everyone believed she was. She was a magnificent Lannister lioness, mated to the Castamere Lion.
Many times, Elijah tried to make me take his surname. Each time, I threatened him. I wouldn't accept the name Castamere. It was a weak name. The Lannister blood ran strongly in me. I would never be the weak fool my father was.
I have never shifted once among the wolves before. I knew it'd be certain death for me. But I trusted one single wolf, and that was Alexa Sinclair. She wasn't a regular wolf, being a descendant of the Monster Wolf, Fenrir.
I sit beside Alexa and she looks at me. "What really happened to your dad?" She asks. "You know. He was murdered." I respond. "Yeah, but we all know you know who it was." She says and I sigh, looking around. "I've only trusted you." I mutter.

*Flashback

"Jaxon, what have you done?" Elijah asks, shock heavy in his voice. I stand in my lion form, blood dripping from my teeth and muzzle.
Fight me, old man. Your time's over.
Or so you believe.
I'm positive.
He nodded and shifted, his fire red coat gleaming in the sunlight. The sun makes me brighter than usual and I roar, extending my fangs more. He simply roars softly and looks at me.
Elijah and I were always clashing heads for anything. It was time for a new King to rule.
I charged him first, and he easily moves.
Come on, Jaxon. You were trained better than this.
He mocks me and I leap forward, my claws out. He once again easily gets out of the way and I fall in his dust. His golden eyes laugh at me and I snarl, leaping at him. His golden eyes brighten with shock when my jaws wrap around his neck. There was no way for him to escape me now. His paws helplessly paw at my face, but a claw gets me under the eye. I growl at the pain, and I slowly lower his body to the ground. Once the light of life leaves his eyes, I release him, and roar loudly, marking the reign of a new king. I turn around and there was my mother, the graceful and deadly golden lioness.
You did our name well, Jaxon.
I killed him. It was time for a new King.
You're no King, Jaxon Lannister. Not yet. You haven't earned your keep.
Don't tell me that! I earned it here and now! I killed the King. I'm the new Ruler here!
No son. Not until you show this corpse to the pride. But you must admit you killed your father in cold blood. There was no need to kill him. Waiting until you were matured and he died naturally would have the same effect.
No! He's dead here and now. Don't speak in future terms.
But now, there are no more competitions with the Castameres. He was the last one. Now the Lannisters have full reign here.
Finally! He's had his reign, now it's my turn.
That it is.
She says and turns away, trotting up to the castle. I follow soon after, leaving the gleaming red king dead near the other dead lion from the pride that dared challenge me.
I was undefeated. I was ruthless. I was a Lannister.
I shifted back and opened my father's jaws. I pulled each one of his fangs out, and dropped his head down on the earth. I held the four in my hand and made my way back home.

*Flashback over

"So it was you?" Alexa says, not looking at me. "I did." I respond and she scoots away. "You murdered your own father for what, power? Dominance?" She growls, standing up. "I did it because I was tired of him. We never got along." I say, defending myself. "You didn't have to kill him!" She shouts at me. I lower my head, and I hear her stalk off. I don't stop her. She was right.
But you're a Lannister, Jaxon.
Mom?
I'm always here but remember. A Lannister doesn't need to explain himself. He does as he pleases. He's the true King.
But now she hates me. And I trusted her.
That has nothing to do with it. She'll only slow you down.
But having her as an ally would be good for us.
Just leave the mutt alone.
She's not a mutt.
Oh now she's not?
She never was!
Watch yourself Jaxon Lannister. I may be gone, but I can still hurt you.
And with that threat, she was gone from my mind.
Mom had died years after Elijah. I knew that his death would affect her, but I didn't think about her well being. I only cared about myself, but then again, my mother was manipulative, cunning, and deadly. I think it was time for them both to leave the earth and the living.
