Alexa's P. O. V
I come back to that ancient pine and hide among the roots. I hear Dallas' low howl and I knew they wouldn't find me this time. I made sure to run through the tall grass and flowers, masking my scent.

Now I knew just how fertile I really was. Only two days of being with Tyler,  I was going to be giving him his heir by late winter. "Come out Alexa. You can't fool me. This is in fact where I found you." I hear someone call out. I knew it was Tyler so I stayed silent and still. His face comes into view and I make myself even smaller. He drops down and his eyes meet mine. I whine and lay my head down on my paws. "Come on out. Talk to me." He says and I shake my head. He sighs and shifts. I look up at the sky, seeing it was darkening. I sniff and can smell rain coming. Tyler nuzzles my ear and I start to come out of the roots.
Come on. Let's get back.
But it began raining, and the wind was getting stronger.
Strange.
What?
The rain and the wind. It was still when I was looking for you.
Then we need to hurry up.
I know now come on.
He takes off at a run and I struggle to keep up. He notices and slows down. I see the tall grass and flowers and slow to a walk.
We're really close. Just pass this grass and we're fine.
I don't get a response so I turn my head. I can't see in the darkness but a shock of white lightning shows he wasn't with me.
Run! Find Dallas!
Tyler! Where are you?!
Just do it!
I run, howling for Dallas.
Alexa! It's me Dallas! I'm right in front of you.
Tyler needs you! Dallas, something's happening to him.
Run on home. Call for help.
I-I will.
I've got him. Go.
The large black shadow runs past me, a savage snarl twisting his muzzle, showing his white teeth.
I run up to the front porch, shift, and run inside. "River!" I call and he comes with Mason. "It's Tyler and Dallas. Back past the tall grass." I pant. "Mason, get the Wolves. I think the attacks are starting." River growls and Mason runs out the door, shifting as he bounds off the porch. Jenny looks at me when I sit beside her. "What's happening to them?" She asks. "I-I don't know. Tyler was beside me and then he wasn't. He just told me to get Dallas. Then Dallas told me to get help." I say, rushed. Then my eyes narrow, hate bright in them. They land right on Alek. "You sent me back." I snarl, rising from the couch. "I had to. Dante was going to hurt my mom!" He says, and I growl. "He almost killed my guardian, someone that meant a lot to me. Yet you put me in cuffs. You were the one that hit the back of my head every time." I say, my eyes looking like molten silver. His blue eyes darken and Ash keeps him seated. I turn to Jenny. "Come on." I say, and we go up to my room. "It smells strongly of you and the new Alpha." She comments. "He was my mate before Tyler took me to your pack. And I was pregnant, and well Tyler knew it." I say and realization shows in her eyes. "Oh my god." She says and I nod, as we sit on the edge of the bed. I whistle lowly and hear the bed creak behind us. I feel warmth behind me and Jenny jumps up, looking behind me. "What is that?" She squeaks. "Jenny, meet Johnny. Johnny, this is Jenny, my new friend." I say, wrapping my arms around Johnny's thick neck and burying my face in his scruff. "He's missed you. And I have too." I hear someone say. "Excuse me." Jenny says and I hear her shuffle out of the room. I look up at River. "You're pregnant, aren't you?" He asks as he sits beside me. I nod, "Yep. I guess Tyler will get what he always wanted." I say. "But are you?" "I guess I am. I'll be able to hold my baby. I won't have to cry myself to sleep knowing I lost it." "But I'll have to live with knowing my mate is having another man's child." "But we're not mates anymore, River. Look." I tilt my head, not having River's mark where it was. "I don't either." He tilts his head, peels back his collar, showing smooth unmarked skin. "Will you come back once it's born?" "Maybe. It's not like he needs me there."

Tyler's P. O. V

I lean against the wall, hearing their conversation. I knew it was wrong, but I needed to know. I should tell her how I feel about her, but I couldn't bring myself to do it.
But I do need you. You'd make a better man. A better Alpha. I think to myself. I hear someone stand up so I back away to the stairway. "This isn't right Alexa. You were meant to be with me." I hear River growl. "Well I can't help it River, that I'm having Tyler's baby." She snaps back. I stop. She's. She's having my baby. She's having my child. Now I understand what Mom had told Alexa. She knew Alexa was having the baby, and Alexa didn't even know. But now, she'd leave after the baby's born. She'd leave us once the baby's born. I couldn't let her leave, but I promised her I wouldn't force her to stay. She'd have the choice of coming back to what she knows and is used to. Or she can stay with me and the baby, to be a true family. But I can't make her stay. She'll hate me then. And I didn't want that.
