Chapter 10: He's Back

Ash's P. O. V

The moment her hand touches my forehead, searing pain courses throughout my body. I scream out, falling to my knees. I grip my hair in my hands and curl up, laying on the floor. Alexa moves to touch me but a large wolf moves in her way. I didn't know who he was but she certainly did. Tears well up in her eyes and she drops to her knees. "Kyle." She whispers and the wolf presses his head to hers. She wraps her arms around his neck and a low rumble comes from the back of his throat. "I miss you so much." She says and the wolf makes a sound of agreement. "Come Alexa. It's time to bring him to earth." The Goddess says and Alexa grabs my hand in hers. The Goddess takes our hands and her eyes cast upwards to the sky. Her eyes and hair takes on a white glow and the air starts whirling around us. I feel a shock of pain and my world turns black.

Alexa's P. O. V

I jerk up and Nicolas groans, rolling away. I step out of bed lightly, remembering where I need to go. I hear him roll again and I freeze. He doesn't get up so I quickly move through the house. I quietly open the door and step out into the blowing snow. I close it behind me and I begin shivering. I shift and start running. I avoid open areas and find the stream, the current frozen to ice. I step on it and make my way over. I find the Old Pine and I find the charcoal wolf curled in the roots. I push my head against his and he jerks up, eyes crazed. They calm once I whine.
Come on.
Let's go.
We walk off together when I hear howls coming from the CrescentLake territory.
Run!
I run as if the devil himself was on my heels and we barely make it into the BloodiedPeak border when a pair of green eyes land on me. He charges after me but is stopped by Ash, who snarls. He stands in front of me, his lip curling back to show his fangs. Nicolas backs up and with one final glance at us, he runs back to his territory.
Thank you Ash.
You're mine to care for, Alexa. I will always take care of you.
We run together back towards the house and my mind returns to last night.
The Goddess had told me someone had changed me so I could be mated with Nicolas. For what reason, we don't know but they had enough power to do it without trying too hard. She waited until Ash came back to tell me what was to happen soon. I had to wait a year before I could locate my mate, which will be harder than usual. Until then, I am not allowed to be anywhere near past flames except Ash and Alek for some certain reason. Also I cannot get physical with any male at all and I agreed with her on that.

Once we step into the house it seemed like time stopped. Everyone stopped what they were doing and stared at Ash. "Y-you're dead." Alek stutters and Ash shakes his head. "I was needed here. To end the final battle." Ash said and I bob my head, making Alek stare at us long and hard. Tyler reaches out for me and I back away, shaking my head at him. "I'm not allowed to be near any of you." I say and make my way around everyone and manage to get into my room.
Johnny is laid across my bed and he jumps up, his tail wagging. His eyes shine with happiness and I drop to my knees. He runs up to me, licks my chin and I wrap my arms around him. I let him go and walk into my closet. I change into shorts and a tank then return to my room. I climb into bed and Johnny drops down beside me. I lay my head beside his and his golden amber eyes sleepily stare back at mine, his tail thumping against the bed. "You're the one that hasn't hurt me yet, Johnny. You know that?" I whisper and he nuzzles against me. I close my eyes and fall asleep with the one who hasn't hurt my heart.

I wake up to Johnny gone and my head hurting. I down an ibuprofen and go downstairs. I make breakfast, which was simply eggs, ham, toast, and fresh fruits. I arrange it on the table and soon everyone starts filling in the chairs. I sit alone at the head, and notice River and Mason absent.
Kane's eyes flick from me to the plate and I drop my fork and knife. "What do you have to say Kane?" I snap, my temper not the best. "Nothing, I just... I can smell two males on you and I was wondering if they marked you." He says, his eyes hard and words coming out quickly. "They didn't do a thing to her. I won't let them." Ash growls lowly and everyone turns to stare at him. Alek glances at me and hurt shows bright in his eyes. I ignore it and continue eating. I feel eyes still on me and I lift my eyes, seeing Briar, Kaye, and Elle watching me. Kaye and Elle look away but Briar keeps staring into my eyes. I growl and Echo rises to the surface. A collective gasp comes from everyone and I look at them in confusion. I pull my phone out and turn on the camera. My eyes were blood red with a darker tint around my pupil and a faint glow behind the color. I look at Briar again and she reeks of fear but won't break the stare. I growl again and her eyes flicker between mine and her plate. She wanted to submit, but wouldn't.
