Day One

Morning - Spencer Mansion - Outside

Allison Michaels was standing outside.

Elliot Spencer walked up to her, holding a rose. "Mrs. Allison Spencer, I presume."

Allison took the rose, smelling it. "You mean Mrs. Allison Michaels-Spencer, don't you?"

"You wanna be alone?" Elliot asked.

"No," Allison answered.

"You're not getting cold feet, are you?" Elliot asked.

"No, Elliot, I am definitely not getting cold feet," Allison answered. "I love you, you know that."

"But..." Elliot trailed off.

Allison shrugged. "I don't know, it's just so overwhelming. I mean, after all these years of dreaming about us getting married, I just... I don't want anything bad to happen, that's all."

"I've got an idea," Elliot told her. "Let's elope."

Allison laughed. "Yeah, right. Like your mom would really allow that."

They kissed.

Grace Spencer walked closer. "Elliot?"

"Speak of the devil," Allison muttered.

Elliot looked at Grace. "Hi, Mom."

"I have been looking all over for you," Grace told him. "Did you get the marriage certificate yet?"

"Not yet," Elliot answered.

"Well, you have to," Grace told them. "The wedding won't be legal without it."

"We're going to City Hall tomorrow before the rehearsal dinner," Allison explained.

"But why not go today?" Grace asked.

"Mom, relax, will you?" Elliot asked. "Why are you so bent about this?"

Allison saw a woman named Jade standing nearby. "Who's that?"

Grace followed her gaze. "Oh, no."

"Who is it?" Elliot asked.

"Someone I haven't seen for a long time," Grace answered, walking over to Jade. "What are you doing here?"

"What's the matter?" Jade asked. "Forget about our little pact?"

"No, Jade, but I was hoping that you did," Grace answered. "My God, you haven't aged in 20 years."

"You could've asked for eternal youth, Grace, instead of choosing wealth, power, all this," Jade told her. "You've had a good life, haven't you?"

A woman named Kirsten walked up to them. "Where to?"

"Oh, have the butler show you to our rooms," Jade told her. "Tell him Mrs. Spencer was expecting us."

Kirsten left.

Grace looked at Jade. "You can't just move in here. People will be suspicious. What will I say?"

"Say the truth," Jade told her. "Say your son's had a change of heart. That was our deal, remember? Don't worry, Elliot won't even know what you did until it's over."
