Chapter 8
(You have a sister)
King Soren left the room very pleased. Brianna had been a beautiful girl so he hadn’t doubted the girl would be pleasant to look at. The king hadn’t actually expected her to be the raving beauty she was but was pleased by it. He had no doubt even with the knowledge of, who her father was that the men would still be charmed by her.
The dark king smiled remembering her eyes as she’d warned one of his guards. He could remember the fire that had been a trademark of Alana when she’d been Fae. He’d actually admired the woman for her fire. The knowledge that his daughter possessed such fire delighted him. With training his daughter could be a force to be reckoned with.
“What do you think?” King Soren asked not looking directly at any of the men with him.
“They are capable,” His captain announced. “Cavin is actually a very good fighter.”
“You’ve seen him?” Soren asked.
“And was once on the receiving end,” The elf said somewhat embarrassed. The king looked at him with a raised eyebrow and amused expression. “It was long ago but did happen.”
“We’ve all been beaten at some point in our lives Tae,” The dark king remarked. He looked over to the elf that had ended up in a confrontation with his daughter.
“Apologies your majesty,” The elf said quickly.
“No matter,” He shrugged. “Get a message to the Goblin King to meet with me, Ramsey. He can choose where but by tomorrow night.” Ramsey bowed and quickly left his presence. The king looked back at the closed doors to the ballroom. “Getting close to her here will not be easy,” He sighed.
“Is that why you wish to meet with the King Aidan?” Tae asked.
“He did speak up on my behalf,” Soren reminded him.
“He is not a close ally,” Another guard said.
“No but he is still of the dark,” The Dark Elf King said. “He didn’t have to say anything and could’ve remained silent. Aidan openly spoke against those he was with. It was actually a rather risky move. There are far more light forces in there than dark.”
“Yes but a number of forces in there are afraid of him,” Tae commented.
The dark king nodded in agreement. “Let’s go,” The king started walking down the sidewalk and he and his guards disappeared from sight.

King Aidan left the ballroom and headed for his quarters. The appearance of the dark king had essentially ended the ball. He was walking when he felt a presence over in the trees. He turned toward the trees and knew it was one of the dark elves. Instantly he disappeared.
“Planning to spy on the girl?” King Aidan said appearing behind the elf.
“No,” Ramsey hiding his surprise and turning to face the Goblin King. “King Soren wishes to speak with you privately.”
“Does he,” The Goblin King said watching the elves movements. The king was not surprised by this summons in the least. “When?”
“When and where is for your choosing,” Ramsey announced. “However he wants to meet with you by tomorrow night.”
“Tell him to meet me outside my Labyrinth tomorrow at sunset,” The king announced. He glanced back at the castle. “Your king’s appearance will make everyone unsettled tonight. I had already planned to return home tomorrow. No one will think anything of my leaving. They would tonight.”
