• Brianne's POV •
When I finally woke up the time on my phone read 9:03 a.m. I wasn't in a deep sleep, because I was kept up about whether or not I was going to end up knocked up after last night.
I opened my eyes and turned over, but Deshawn wasn't there. I yawned as I sat up looking around to see where he was.
I finally saw him throwing clothes in a suitcase next to his bedroom closet. Why?
"Hey ma," he greeted once he noticed I was up. I waved back because it took me a minute in the morning to get in my right mind. I looked down at myself to see that I still had his T shirt on, but Deshawn was fully clothed in casual wear. He looked as if he was going somewhere. "What are you doing?" I finally asked.
"I..uhh.. I got to go," he sighed looking at me with sad eyes. I crawled across the bed to where I could be nearer to him.
"Go?" I asked confused.
He just nodded," I'm flying out to Cali for two days."
"So you're just going to leave? What about school?"
"I'll be exempt for that. I already talked to the Dean and coach," he mentioned.
"What the hell is in California?"
"Golden State called last night around 12. They want to meet with me. Trying to discuss a possible signing to the Warriors team. Coach told me I should go anytime a team offers me a contract even if I'm not going to sign," he explained,"they only can meet with me today and tomorrow. They bought my ticket and all."
"And you're just going to leave," I repeated.
"I'm sorry. I don't want to. It wasn't in my plans. If I knew ahead of time I would've told you," Deshawn said lowly.
I shook my head at him," We just had...and...ugh."
He looked at me with puppy eyes as he came and pulled me into a hug. "I really would like to stay ma," he said rubbing my back. "Then stay. You're not obligated to go," I reminded. "I know, but I already agreed. It's a great opportunity anyways."
"Yeah...but," I sighed.
Deshawn kissed me on my forehead,"It's only two days."
"What about me?" I whined.
"Hold it down for me," he smiled with a wink,"then maybe I'll do some for you in return."
"You did enough last night," I answered.
"I did only a portion of what I can do since you were a first timer and all."
If that was just a portion I wouldn't know what to do if I were to experience the full version. I really should tell him about the condom thing in case he didn't already notice, but I didn't want him to get on the flight worried. Then again he needs to know.
"About last night...," I began getting up off the bed to stand on my feet. Man oh man did it hurt like hell to walk two steps.
"What's up?" He said zipping the suitcase completely since he was finished packing.
"When we had sex last night did you realize...you weren't wearing....any protection," I said worriedly.
He just stood there in front of me running his fingers through his hair," Umm..." Was all he could manage to say.
"Did you?"
"Kind of," he said after a while.
"Kind of?" I raised my eyebrows.
D nodded," I mean...it was too late when I noticed anyways. We were over half way through."
"But you didn't say anything," anger growing in my voice. I wanted kids but not now. Maybe once I kicked my career off and settled down then yes but not now. Not that I would mind them being by him though.
"We just forgot."
"Yeah but think of what the turn out of us forgetting could be?" I said with frustration.
"Baby, calm down. It's cool cause I pulled out. You don't have to worry about carrying my kids...just yet anyways," he chuckled. Even though what he said was slightly amusing, I still felt as if he wasn't taking this as seriously as I was. "Deshawn Michael Harris Junior," I growled.
"Brianne Aubrey King," he mocked.
"Are you positive you pulled out?" I asked grabbing his hand to make sure I had his undivided attention.
"I'm absolutely positive," he nodded," I might shoot three's on the court but I don't pull em in the bedroom." I smirked as I pushed him away. I felt as sense of relief now.
"Look, I keep a spare key on top of my door frame so whenever you're ready to leave just lock it and put it back up there," Deshawn told me. I guess it was time for him to go now.
"Ok, I'll miss you," I pouted as I followed him towards the door.
"I'll miss you too," he said as he bent down and gave me a kiss,"but I'll keep in touch. I promise."
I pinched his cheek as I stood on my tip toes," You better. Be safe and I...I love you."
His eyes got big when I said the last part and his facial expression showed fear and anxiousness.
"Umm yeah, I'll be safe and I..umm...I care about you too," he stuttered causing me to look at him awkwardly. This was the second time I've said that during this time we've been dating. Both times his response fell short of saying the actual words back. It's like he wanted to say it but his tongue wouldn't let him. It was as if he was frightened to say it back and was shook up every time I said it. I wanted to ask what was that all about but I decided I'd wait to have that conversation when he came back home. "Take care of yourself ma," were his last words to me as he squeezed my hand before he walked out the door.
